Sarah's Story
This is the story of the little girl named Sarah. The young girl was only nine years old, still in elementary school. Everyone loved Sarah. Her parents saw her as the shining treasure she was. What a nice girl. She had so many friends at school. They talked about their favorite dolls, and their favorite books. Sarah always loved Alice in Wonderland. She liked to come to school dressed as Alice from the movie. She looked so pretty. One day during school Sarah asked to go to the bathroom. She went to the bathroom, and for some strange reason, she felt adventurous that day. She felt like exploring. Getting to know the world around her, a place she spent so much of her boring time. She walked down the hall and went through the double doors. Past the art room. She walked by the gym, and the doors where the older kids went to. She stopped at the door with "Boy's room" written on the door. She walked a bit farther and saw a strange door off in the corner of the hallway. There was nothing written on it. She opened this strange door, to find a long staircase leading down into darkness. She recalled one day at lunch. Her friends ate by a group of older girls, who remarked about a scary place called "the cellar". Was this it? She looked around, and sighed nervously. She began her descent, leaving the door open to keep light on and see where she was going. She reached ground, the light barely reached. She saw stray metal gates lying all over the floor. She walked a bit further, then stopped dead in her tracks. Slowly the light moved away. The door was being closed. Sarah looked ahead, and with her last few seconds of darkness saw a large bird head, and a pair of human legs below.
"Like the time I lost virginity." He remarked. He held the bowl in front of my face, and took it from his hands. I inhaled, and the surrounding trees bent around us into a thicket as they closely watched us. "This girl, Sarah. She was really fucking hot man. Like seriously. I like... 13? Yeah 13. She was a few years older than me. I was real drunk at this party, and we were making out hard, right?". I continued to hit the bowl as he spoke, he was involved in his story, wouldn't notice the lack of passing, it's great. "So she kind of pushes me away, looks at me all hot and I won't forget what she said. 'Hey you're so cute for your age...' And she starts rubbing my leg and shit, man. 'Let's fuck.' And honestly. I looked at her and said no." I turned to him. I was shocked. He continues. "And I meant it, ya know? I was really drunk, one of the first times I drank. I didn't want to lose my virginity like that. Turns out though man, she's fucking crazy man! She punches me right in the jaw, and I fall to the bed. She starts taking off my pants. And I'm bleeding from the mouth man. I feel sick man. She's on top of me. She's moaning. It felt nice though. I can look back on it alright, because of just how good it all felt in the end."
I was still so drunk. I was naked. I should get changed. I should probably put my clothes back on. It all felt so great. But now he's just lying there, naked. He's not crying, or anything. Just lying there. Now I realize a bit more what I've done. I don't even know his name. That makes it all worse. I should get changed. I can't look at him anymore. I look down at my body. My breasts. My pussy. My hands. So many little cracks. I should get changed.
We’ll be okay. We’ll be okay. We’ll be okay. We’ll be okay. Please tell me we’ll be okay.
NIGHT.

First Love
"And so, sometimes things happen, and other times they don't. Some of us open our boxes to find candy, while others find a wasp nest. And when the box is gone, nothing happens, nothing happens at all." My sister quietly repeated to me. We sat alone on the floor in Grandma's dark kitchen. It was quiet. It was empty. Grandma took all the bulbs away. She told us doing that would help keep the slug man away from the house. The windows were covered with newspaper. All the outside light peeking in was obstructed and distorted with the headlines from week old Entertainment section articles. The newest word on the Jennifer Lawrence nudes, and "can you believe Kim Kardashian was found wearing this?" My little sister was looking at me. She had a somberness in her eyes. It was quiet. The only noise being the low buzzing from the air running through the house, and a loud, angry cough every so often coming from Grandma in her bedroom. We don't go back there anymore. Grandma forbid us from going anywhere near the room ever since she got sick. The day the coughing started. She yelled at us through the closed door. She didn't want us to open it. My little sister and I stood outside the door, looking at one another. That was when the smell started. Coming from Grandma's. It was so strong. It was so bitter. Back in the dark kitchen. On the cold floor. I looked at my sister's eyes. A cold sadness coursed through them. Yet the sight made me feel warm. I felt okay. She looked up at my eyes. The buzzing is louder. My heart is pounding. I slowly lean in. Grandma's coughing doesn't stop. My little sister leans forward too. My eyes are closed. Our lips touch. Her lips are so warm. She tastes so sweet. There is a loud bang from below us. Grandma is choking in agony. My little sister and I lunge backwards away from each other. We gaze at each other, but now it's different. Now her eyes are full of fear, and I know mine are too. It's Grandpa. He's awake. He's not supposed to be awake when it's still light out, but he is. The footsteps start at the bottom of the basement staircase. So many footsteps. Grandpa has so many legs. I've never seen them before. But I always hear them at night. I ask Grandma about it but she doesn't respond when I ask about Grandpa. Nine legs, That what I count at night. I hear his deep high pitched breathing at night from outside my bedroom door. My little sister and I hurry to our room, and lock the door behind us. It is what Grandma told us to do when Grandpa wakes up. And now her and I sit in our dark, empty room. We hear muffled yells and croaks from outside. Over it all we hear the buzzing. The wasp nest is outside. I stare at the door in the darkness. Almost trying to see through it, wondering what's out there. I'm holding her. Caressing her hair. She is holding me. She's so warm. I turn and look at her. She's already looking at me. She's smiling, and I can't help but smile back.
Self portrait? Self portrait.
See the supernatural
I don’t believe in supernatural or metaphysics or that kind of spiritual bullshit. One night we went into the woods to smoke pot. We walked a bit deep into the thick of the trees. Sitting on a tree stump watching us emerge into these woods was a small lawn gnome. We loved it. Here is this strange little object, likely left from a fellow drug user, watching over the woods. As we lit up the bowls and progressed deeper into our minds, we continued to watch the little gnome. It was a late dark night and he had a presence. The next night my friend returned back to the stump, he visited the gnome. He smoked, dove deep. He looked over at the little fucker. But only saw a stump. The gnome had gone up and left. So was that the supernatural? Weird bullshit happens all the time. I think I would like to be proven wrong though. Because wouldn’t it all be nicer if there was that sense of permanence? That something is left over by you? Today I saw a squirrel dying on the side of the road… The squirrel died… He died right there. It ends, but it doesn’t really end, right daddy? Of course sweety, of course it does. Me and Mommy might leave you but we’ll always be there. “You matter”. Daddy tucked her in, and left the room, closing the door behind him. A sense of fear washed over her. Being alone in the darkness frightened her. Reminds her of the other night, the night with the noises. Daddy told her not to worry about that night. The things that go bump in the night aren’t real. The closet door creeks open slowly. She looks over and sees darkness inside, the closet door is slammed open. She closes her eyes. He’s back. There is a hand on her leg. Daddy returned the next morning and she was gone. He told mommy and they cried together. They never found her. Months past by and their crying never stopped. They went on a trip to India. They came back and Mommy got pregnant. They had a baby girl. Mommy is taking down her pictures so Mommy can fit the baby girl’s pictures.
You know this is all fake though, right? The millipedes are all right here besides me.
