Cornell Professor Emin GĂźn Sirerâs AVA Network Developers Release Code for Blockchain PlatformBanking Challenger Moven Partners STC Pay to Introduce New Banking Service for Young People in Saudi ArabiaJust a few days back, Cornell computer science professor Emin Gun Sirer-s AVA Networks released a new codebase. This platform basically aims to handle transactions a lot faster than other blockchain platforms. It also aims to help independent blockchains communicate with each other, a process called -blockchain interoperability.-There seem to be many companies working towards this goal, as different blockchains may be based on different protocols and there needs to be some way for them to exchange information in a manner that they can -understand.-Meanwhile in the Fintech and Payments space, another new trend is developing services specifically for youngsters. In Saudi Arabia, for example, STC Pay has teamed up with Challenger Bank Moven to introduce a new banking services for the country-s tech-savvy young population. These services are important, as young people will contribute the most to the future global economy.

It seems like the traditional financial system is about to collapse. Yes Bank, India-s fourth-largest lender, had to be rescued by the nation-s central bank, the Reserve Bank of India (RBI).Indians, and people around the world in general, are losing confidence in the legacy financial system. That-s because these institutions have had many incidents where they have been found guilty of misconduct like engaging in illicit activities such as money laundering. In the case of Yes Bank, the institution has had a history of issuing bad debt and cannot continue to independently sustain its operations. Following the massive RBI bailout, the company-s shares dropped a whopping 56%. The State Bank of India, the nation-s largest lender, will acquire a large stake in Yes Bank as it prepares to revive itself yet again.Just a couple years back, the institution-s senior officials, which included its chief executive, had to be replaced forcibly due to poor management. While people are quick to argue that crypto is magically the answer to all of this, I suggest taking a step a back and carefully analyze the situation. Crypto and Blockchain will be, and already are, part of the financial revolution. However, digital banks like Monzo, Starling Bank, Monzo, N26, Revolut are ahead of all crypto firms when it comes to leading the global financial transformation. I know this because I study both crypto and Fintech, side by side, and have been for years.Digital Banks are great because they do not maintain physical locations. You can do all your banking from your mobile phone. They also offer much better interest rates than regular banks. The US Fed had to cut interest rates down to 0.09% which is crazy low. Just a few years back, I had locked up $10,000 at 2.25% which seemed really low to me at that time, but now it-s like almost nothing. However with Digital Banks opening up, some of them are still offering 2 % even as we head into what many analysts think is an inevitable recession, partly due to the coronavirus threat.
