This guy is actually an absolute romantic and will give his all to make a relationship work. He can actually be a very sweet person, and he has a soft spot when it comes to romance and all the ‘sappiness’ that comes with it.
He has a bookshelf full of romance novels and movies.

“You won’t regret it! Now… put your hand over your heart, feel its beat, envision your old power. Wish with everything you have!” she said calmly as eyes closed and even if they did regret it? Oh well, Rat God would not betray someone so long as they remained useful in her machinations… as she would purposefully fail to mention? Anything time related bound to her could easily be undone as well as she began to exert a bit of energy, her hands outward as ripples in the fabric of reality began to unweave. Things would be incomprehensible to outside observers that were not in the same mental state as either of these beings. Madness would be a good way to describe how this actually worked visibly, the Great King beginning to feel a smidgen of his vast power return before it’d cease, but it’d ring true nonetheless.
Just whishing for it with a hand over the heart? That methodoly felt rather simplistic. Nonetheless, the demon did as instructed, resting his hand over his beating heart, feeling the squishiness of human flesh and yearning for the smoothness of scales once more.
Somewhere in the corners of his mind, he knew that this was risky, that allowing unknown powers to weave in his own, to unravel and manipulate his being was dangerous. But, he did feel bits of power and strength returning as the seconds went on, and it was enough to silence the concerns. The small piece of power he could feel returnin as this supposed God did her thing, well, it was more than he could have hoped.

The Child looks down at his little legs. Then he looks at the stranger’s significantly longer ones.
He reaches both his arms up with a coo. Uppy-up would be much better, thank you. Especially when he hears the slightly more frantic second call of his name, even as it’s further away.
“All right, let’s get you up here.”
Wiith a small chuckle, Leviathan quickly scooped the child up, letting him rest in his arms as he began moving towards the sound of the voice in quick, long strides. “Let’s get you to him before starts tearing things apart to get you.”

“To make the assumption that I am a mere Oracle would be understating my occupation and purpose. If you wish to refer to me as such to make things easier for you is fine, however.” The supposed Oracle would respond in that same cool, silken tone in her voice. If he had any idea who or what he was talking to, I doubt the discussion would be as calm at is now.
“Might I ask how you are handling being in a world that is so different than your own or would that be asking far too much from you in person?”
While there were many stories about her king other than being unusually knowledgeable about the secrets of the world and being cryptic about their nature, it was said that one should not abuse their hospitality if it is offered to them as tempting as it might be.
“While it may look different, at the core this world is not any different from mine own. People will struggle to survive, and are driven by wants and desires. Cut the people open and they still bleed, take everything from them and they grieve. The only thing that has changed is the tools by which the people live by.”
It had been difficult to adjust, but Leviathan had adapted. A leader needed to be flexible, the inability to adapt to changes was a fatal, and oftimes lethal flaw in any person.
Sorry for the silence, I’ve been swamped with work this past week with the bad luck of working both jobs almost every day (AKA working 8am to midnight in what’s essentially two 8hr shifts back to back, with just a lunch break at noon) i am mentally and spiritually dead rn. I at least lucked out in getting the preclose shift today at the evening job and got sent home 30 mins early cause we were so slow.
But, tomorrow should hopefully be my last shift like that for a few days at least, so I’ll have all the time to be on here come Saturday.
On one hand Leviathan is a giant monster who will eat people whole, capsize ships and flood cities, killing hundreds when angered.
On the other he’s a blushy baby who loves romance, wants to be held and loved, and will buy his S.O a rose every single day while taking them on the cheesiest, fluffy dates.
“You dare to enter my domain? Is this a sign of stupidity or arrogance?” The very water pushes and rushes around him, as though this massive entity’s every movement creates ocean currents. Boy is he far from happy with this intruder.
“Do you see that? The ocean is bleeding, cut open by the vileness of man. Brought to ruin by their wickedness. But, the ocean and seas are not submissive beasts. They will rise, they will flood your cities and drown your people!”
It was hard to tell if the man was giving a genuine speech and warning, or if he was just rehearsing lines for some show at the aquarium. Either way, he was drawing in quite a crowd.
Underwater Caves

Supportive, she threw in a playful bit of wordplay as well, “Oh? How wonderful… I think we will get along quite swimmingly, so I believe it is fine enough we now meet!” the being of rats dispersed, then a warping of reality as the air twisted as smoke emitted, a rather celestial looking rat humanoid would appear.
Wings fluttering as hands clasped together, “I can restore what was once lost, you poor thing. Your form must have been so beautiful and powerful… yet now chained and bound. You need to open your mind… just a little, not enough for me to take control, but enough for me to reverse what was lost, so I can give a ‘sample’ of what you once had, O’ King. Then? We can discuss more.”
Ah, so this was what she looked like, and, her knowledge did not disapoint. Beautiful and powerful, that was correct, who he had been and who he planned to be once more.
“Of course. A taste of what’s to come before the final product.” Though his tone was calm, the idea of opening his mind for someone to play with, even to regain his powers and become unshackled, wasn’t an easy thing to do. “Do what you need to do,”

More of the swarm coming closer from the shadows, the voices grew louder, “Oh me oh my! A King of the Sea and of Demons? How interesting… but a pleasure nonetheless. It makes this far easier given what you are for what you can trade. But power? Murder? Such dangerous wishes… require an even more dangerous offer, wouldn’t you agree? Though you need to be a tad more specific on what exactly you want.” Her needs in itself were simple… living humans, food, artifacts, he probably knew that already however.
“Dangerous, yes, but one should be willing to risk danger to achieve what they desire, is that not true?” He watched the rats grow closer, their movement reminding him of a school of fish swiming packed together. “I simply need power in order to commit the murders. The magic and power I had before coming to this realm.” The power to return to his true form at will rather than be chained to this vile body. “Assuming that what I’ve heard is true, I will happily trade with you.”

The word “family” makes him squeak an affirmative and nod his head. He is, in fact, with his family! Though he affords the sign with the red letters one more longing look– a little sniff of the nose tells him it smells like food in there– all the Child does is sigh and accept that, perhaps, it simply isn’t worth the effort.
…not until this stranger skedaddles, anyway. Then he can sneak in easy.
“Grogu!” a voice calls off from another room, and the Child turns his head in the direction of the sound.
Once more, he coos, “Bui.”
Which is to say that’s definitely his daddy. Does the stranger want to meet him?
“Well, I suppose that answers that,” he said with a laugh when he heard the call in the distance and the childs reaction to it.
Probably a worried father. Which means he should get this kid to said father before complaints got filed with management and cops got called over a missing kid.
He didn’t want to deal with either.
“Sounds like he’s not too far. Do you want to walk on your own to him, or would being carried work better?”

Why had this one… kept returning? Leaving offerings, she did understand that some did commune with her from rumors. Witches, Politicians… all sought her secrets or something else of worth if they were willing to provide a trade. So a rat finally approaching openly, it’d look up to them before snatching the food, eating it before returning to the shadows. Her psonic presence could tell he wasn’t human, so with that whisper, it sounded like a thousand tiny, sweet voices in his ear even if nothing was there, “My oh my… I’ve been watching you for some time now. You’ve been very friendly, knowing certainly a lot to keep coming back here. Who are you, really? You can share with me! As you seek something, don’t yoooou? Is it regrets? Is it something unfulfilled, something lost to time?” It demanded near bubbly as if encouraging them along, keeping that persona of innocence for now.
Ah. Voices. Confirmation that his actions so far had not been a pointless waste of time. Good, good.
“I seek many things. Power and murder chief among them.” Did he trust this being? As much as a bleeding seal trusted a great white. But, trusting or not, this was a great opportunity, his information was correct. “I am Leviathan, King of the Seas and the demons born from it. It is a pleasure to make your acquaintance.”

“Here’s the thing about names… You never know if the one you are given is the correct one or a well constructed lie. I could say anything I please and you would have no idea that it is not the truth.” She would respond, her green eyes seeming to read him over like a scholar might browse through a well read book. Admittedly, there was far more she could see, although such things could not be seen by the naked eye or comprehensible to the mind.
“As for who you speak of… Although I know who you seek… I will only provide a simple clue. Look for the point of highest activity… brought by those who will not let things be.” It was a bit cryptic, but it was no fun for her if they just… got the answers and didn’t have to deal with it did they?
Truth be told, all the recent events with people throwing magic back and forth would make quite a bit of racket to an outside observer. No idea how he’d feel when he finds his king flipping burgers though.
“Well, you are correct there.” the demon said with a laugh. How often had he, since arriving at this forsaken world, led people to believe his name was ‘Yosuke Oshiro’? “I suppose the correct thing to have asked was what I may call you.”
He kept his tone on the lighter, politer side, being careful not to let any genuine feeling leak through, to not let discomfort show. The way she spoke and the way she looked at him. Something about her didn’t feel right and it put him slightly on edge.
“Are you by chance an oracle of sorts? Or just simply a being of high intuition?” Was what he asked, filing her clue away in his mind to dissect and unravel later. There were many places with high activity, but there were just as many places he could take off his list to search if she wasn’t just pulling his leg.
Got the Verse Tags up now, though there’s only the big three (Pre-War, War, Post-War/Current). Will add new tags when a new verse is created.

“Bui,” the Child says. It’s not much of an answer, but it’s the best he can give– he doesn’t quite know how to say “buir” yet, much as he loves his father, and can’t very well say he’s here with him.
Even on one knee, this stranger is very tall. The Child scrunches his nose and wiggles his ears.
He points to one of the signs that reads “AREA CLOSED”, looking towards it for a moment before looking back in the stranger’s direction. Then he tilts his head in question; he can’t read yet, but the big red symbols probably mean something.
He didn’t understand what the child was trying to say, curse the barrier of languages, but did his best to try and make a guess. So, when he saw a finger point to the sign, Leviathan only nodded his head.
“Yep,the sign says back here is off limits, and is unfortuantely not open to visitors. It’s where we keep all the fish feed and equipment, not as exciting as the fish swimming about in the rest of the place.” Plus, it could be a bit dangerous for people if they decided to play around with some of the machines. Hopefully the child could understand him
Should he take this child to the front desk? That’s what they were supposed to do with kids who got separated from their designated adult. Or maybe Levitathan should look around instead, whoever brought him here might not be that far away. “Did you come here with your family?”
