To be honest, I really like this development from reader's point of view. I kinda always expected for jjk to have not really happy ending, where out of four (Yuuji, Nobara, Megumi, Gojo) only Yuuji survives. And it did happen, but in Modulo. I'm pretty sure Megumi is already dead. Nobara is still alive, but for how long? If Yuuji wouldn't die in Modulo, when he will keep living, alone and lonely. I wonder, if he will die, would we see his reunion with close ones, like we saw Gojo's?

But I prefer for him to keep living, because it's a really good written tragedy for shounen MC. It gives you emotions, not pleasant one, but it's not purpose of every piece of media to make you feel only nice things.
