“No, baby, it’s fine.” You reassured him for the fifth time. “I understand. Your work comes first.”
“I just feel so bad! We were supposed to spend the whole day together. You even took off from work.”
“Seungkwan,” you admonished, “It’s okay. We’ll just reschedule.” You heard him sigh through the phone.
“Well in that case, why don’t - I’M COMING, ONE MINUTE!” You winced, knowing someone (probably Coups), was yelling for him.
“I’m gonna let you go now baby. Happy birthday!” You sighed into the phone and hung up on him before he got in even more trouble. Sighing, you traipsed back to your bedroom to put your pajamas back on. You had the whole day off, so might as well enjoy it.
Why was your phone ringing? You grunted and rolled over on your mattress, eyes glancing wearily around your bedroom. There was the remote, some empty soda cans, the half eaten box of pizza…oh! Your phone! You grabbed it and hit the answer button.
“Hello?” You mumbled, half yawning.
“Hey baby!” Seungkwan’s voice chirped from the other end.
“Kwan, it’s like, three in the morning. Why are you calling me?”
“Do me a favor and open your door?”
“What? Uh, sure, okay.” You rolled ungracefully out of bed, tripping over a loose shoe before reaching your door.
“Why do you want me t- oh. Hey.” Standing in your doorway was Seungkwan, holding a bouquet of daisies.
“I brought you your favorite.” He said with a thousand-watt smile. You pulled him into a tight hug, allowing yourself to nuzzle into the sweatshirt he was wearing.
“Why are you bringing me flowers? It’s your birthday, I should be the one giving you a gift.” You mumbled, looking up at him. He wrapped his arms around you and walked you inside, closing the door behind him.
“Because,” he smiled and kissed the tip of your nose, “You’re my wonderful girlfriend, and getting to see you is more than enough of a gift.”
“Well I guess you don’t need your real gift, then.” You teased.
“Hey now. Let’s not be too hasty.”
Glad I finished that. Btw, in my mind, your gift was a voucher for two plane tickets to Jeju so that you could go visit his mom with him. Idk.
