July 13th - plans for this summer @myhoneststudyblr âš
This summer wonât be like the ones of past years. We will not be able to go to the movies with our friends, to go to the beach, to hug our loved ones. However, this summer will teach us many valuable things, Iâm sure of that. Be sure to make the most out of this situation, whatever that means to you. Take care!
PLANS FOR THIS SUMMER
1. Learn Japanese đŻđ”. I started learning Japanese back in middle school but I never got the chance to actually get better. I guess I was not studying it the right way then, so this summer, Iâll take at least 40 minutes everyday to practice Japanese. Some days I feel unmotivated, so I downloaded a Chrome extension which helps you study whatever language you want while watching Netflix, that way it doesnât really feel like youâre studying which is perfect for those âlazyâ days. ( Language learning with Netflix: https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/language-learning-with-ne/hoombieeljmmljlkjmnheibnpciblicm?hl=en)
2. Reading a book per week đ. I love reading. It helps me escape to a whole different place, and I feel like we all need that from time to time. Nevertheless, I kind of lost the habit when I started high school. I just had too much to do and the stress of having to study for exams, or revising notes, etc. didnât really let me concentrate enough to enjoy reading. Now that we are all staying home, I have all the time in the world to finish reading those books that have been sitting unread on my bookshelf for ages. (Books I havenât finished despite having them for years: To All The Boys Iâve Loved Before, The Bookthief, Neverwhere, among others)Â
3. Practicing the violin đ» . I used to play the violin in my schoolâs orchestra, but they put so much pressure on us to learn each song perfectly, that I ended up not wanting to play anymore. Two years have passed since I last played, but recently, I got my love for playing back. Although I am not as good as I was back then, I plan to practice everyday. This is something Iâm really passionate about but some days I feel like I wonât get better. I try not to criticize myself so much but sometimes itâs just inevitable. I need to remember that learning a new skill is a process and that it takes time.Â
4. Relaxing đ±. I have always been the type of person who stresses too much over everything. When Iâm at school I stress over how much I need to do, and when Iâm on vacation I stress about how I should be doing more. Although staying productive makes us feel good, sometimes it makes us feel overwhelmed as well. Donât forget that we are in the middle of a worldwide crisis and that sometimes we need a break, and thatâs ok. We might feel the need to do as much as we can on a daily basis but some days itâs great to just watch movies, take naps, lay down while listening to your favorite songs, to relax.Â
