Aconites are starting to bloom too! I have several varieties, so they bloom from Spring to Fall. This is the big indigo one that blooms during Summer.

And my houseplants are watching it all.
What are we supposed to do when the weather is so 400% offroad and ratcheting dramatically and unpredictably further off course for each of the past 3 years, and it’s only January and the farmer’s almanac, which I never in my life needed to use, is exactly perfectly opposite of correct on every point. I assume the drought that exceeded my imagination each of the past 3 years will do so again, but it’s hard to prepare to defend against ‘probably having my mind blown’. The almanac says we’re having a colder snowier winter than normal, and now is the coldest part. IRL, everyone’s out on the sidewalk in shorts, having park weddings like its early June. 0 precipitation in a month. Like do I need to sink a water barrier around the garden to get fruit? The few tomatoes I got were carried off by a biblical plague of non-native beetles that ate every blade of green in 2 weeks and were gone again. And those tomatoes were tiny and growing on parched branches. On supposedly drought resistant early girl plants. With DAILY watering. liEK DID WE MOVE TO THE SURFACE OF THE SUN I DONT KNOW HOW TO WORK IN THESE CONDITIONS.
