The birthright of Angels are the galaxies, the stars, the very skies that are the veil to the Heavens.
But what is our birthright if not fire and destruction?

I attempt to speak in a language I no longer know, and every memory of home is as blurry as the last.
I try to speak a language I once knew, and all it tastes like are ashes.

do you still hear the stars?
I hope to.

I am holy, yes, but mostly, I am angry. I am angry I cannot protect innocents like I once did. I am angry at the frailty of these bones. I am angry at the rippling of my skin. I am angry at a world I cannot heal. It is too far gone. They forget to tell you, being an angel is synonymous with being angry. After all, we are divine wrath.
Destruction is all you’re capable of; it’s all you’ve ever known. You’ve decimated cities with a glance and felled more armies than you care to count. You are righteous fury and unthinking malice. You are a beloved weapon to the hand of fate… But how curiously he stills yours. How tenderly he looks on at your clothes stained crimson, at your feral gaze in awe and wonder, but never fear. Destruction is all you’re capable of, but you shudder to think of the day he may fall to ruin by your hand.
I long to breathe in time with the stars, like before.
