The Birds of a Feather Project
by @sunrisesinthesuburbs and @firelikestars
Hello!
As we all know, celebrating the upcoming Good Omens 3 has been bittersweet. We love our characters, and we’re sad to see them go. We also want to honour Terry Pratchett’s work while condemning Neil Gaiman.
The unfortunate reality is that Neil Gaiman is continuing to use his money to harm. He’s suing his victims, he’s paying for PR cover up, and it is highly possible he will receive money from Good Omens 3, whether it’s for the writing credits or Amazon Prime streams or something else we’re not aware of. It’s not confirmed, the details are hazy, but it is very possible.
It’s uncomfortable to think about! Taking action and making a change is not inherently comfortable. So, as Good Omens 3 is on the horizon, we’re inviting the fandom to feel a little bit of that discomfort in a productive way, in a safe, supportive environment. You are not powerless!
We’re sponsoring two charities for this cause:
Our Voice
Mission Statement: To inspire hope and healing while ending sexual violence and human trafficking in our communities through education, counseling, and advocacy.
Fondazione Giulia Cecchettin
Mission Statement: With a strong commitment to inclusion and the fight against gender violence, the Foundation is based on fundamental values such as integrity, honesty and respect for human rights. Through awareness campaigns and innovative projects, it aims to promote social and cultural change, creating an environment in which each individual can feel safe and valued.
Donate ANY amount of money to these charities and send the receipt to @sunrisesinthesuburbs or @firelikestars, and we will write you a fanfiction of your choosing! It will be written collaboratively. If you want an example of the way we write together, check out The Bug In My Kitchen Thinks We Should Date.
All fics will be 2-4k, so keep that in mind with your prompts. Open to any rating!
What we love to write:
(Encouraged, but not required! You can send us whatever you want — besides our hard limits farther down.)
fluff
hurt/comfort
friends to lovers
humour
first time/first kiss
established relationship
pining
sexual tension
gentle dom aziraphale
trans characters
asexual relationships/queer platonic partners
What we don’t like to write:
(Hard limits, so don’t ask!)
heavy angst
pregnancy/kidfics
omegaverse
age play/regression
You have until February 28th to send us the prompts, and the fics will all be posted on AO3 in a collection called Birds of a Feather. If you have any questions about the prompt or the project itself, feel free to ask us. Our DMs are always open! :)
We’ve seen so many beautiful examples of this community coming together to create something good. We’re hoping for this to be a beacon of hope, light and goodness, too!
Thank you in advance to everyone who will donate! Your voice matters — never ever forget that.
Even if the end of my confort show (the one that draught me into sharing my art again and realise my deep love for illustration) made me really sad, I'm very glad it happens like that, somehow.
Yes I would have appreciated to see them as immortals, forever in their Southdown cottage
And then what ? Domestic fluff for the eternity? (not that I don't like domestic fluff !!!)
I think I would have run out of inspiration very quickly
I really like having the opportunity to imagine them falling in love over and over again. Building strong relationships and eventually, sometimes they could remember their past life in opposite sides, and being so relieved to have the chance to meet each other in every life, with Hell nor Heaven shitty stuff
They aren't dead to me, their souls transcend everything, even the multiverse, even God's game.
Also I'm really inspired by filling the plotholes left in the movie because of the lack of time.
Again : it's my way to interpret it, I know it's not the same for everyone, and how the end hurted a lot of people and mostly, torn apart the fandom.
I'm glad to be part of spaces where we can all express very different feelings about this end, without invaliding each others. I hope we can bring this in this fandom which suffered enough.
Anyway I will probably share a lot of details sketches, and I hope it could spread a bit of softness 💚
TADC doodles during classes (I draw for staying focused okay !!)
I like playing with TADC artistic direction and my art style, maybe it will help me to get more confident about developing a more cartoonish art style, who knows
Here starts the annual "I'm posting my Secret-Santa-Drawings" and I CAN'T help myself but taking part in at least two secret santas per year otherwise I would explode idk
(Still have to work on another one woops)
ANYWAY here are The Dusty Omens from @elnorawhittaker and I was so happy to draw them, I wanted to do so since years ihihi
I don't usually take new year resolutions, but I got one fandom related this year.
My last digital painting was (i think) MacBeth in March.....
So I want to go back to it and paint at least one every month of 2026! Wish me luck, and don't hesitate to send me pictures of David or Michael you'd like to see in paintings! I'll do my best (i think I already have the January one)
Edit: last painting was in September but not sure I like it.
This year was… wow. Filled with joy, but also with grief. It was a tough few months, but my mental health improved, and that’s partly thanks to the little community I started building here.
Thank you so much to everyone. To those who followed me, interacted with my posts, bought my stuff at cons, or just chatted a bit IRL.
Thanks for all the support, and to my friends who brought me into cons and helped me along the way. I can’t wait to take part in more artistic events, even if this brand-new year already looks very busy, lol.
Anyway, I can’t wait to spend another year on this side of the creative community!!
