The Simsā¢ 4 Werewolves: Official Reveal Trailer
*sigh* Iām never getting my Supernatural expansion pack. They really are gonna make us pay for each and every lifestate. U_U
I should know better than to expect EFF ALL from EA, butā¦.
Looking back at my old TS4 Werewolf Rant post, Iām half disappointed and half excited by this trailer.
Unpopular opinion, but I LIKE the wolf head look.
I already said that my fave sims werewolves were from TS1ā²s Makin Magic, cuz they LOOK LIKE WOLVES.
This looks more like a WERECATāitās cool how the muzzle lengths can be changed, apparently. I wanna watch the Thundercats now, lol.
Whatās interesting is that they went with no sexual dimorphism, cuz the girl wolf looks just like the boy wolf, except that she has boobs.
But what in Lycaonās name is this? o_O
EAās still obsessed with the grungy run-down bunker-type aesthetic they had going with Eco Lifestyle, which is my LEAST favorite aspect of the trailer so farāwhy do these werewolves live like a bunch of derelict squatter punks?
ISTG this game looks more cartoony every single day.

Down there must be the new town. Glimmerbrook: The Recession Years.
Moonwood Mill, their ānot-so abandoned town,ā looks like a effing dump, and says more āhomeless!ā than āwerewolf!ā
Cute clutter, but I hope it does more than sit there and look cute (not bloody likely). In TS3ā²s supernatural we have the mood lamp, which affects witches. It would be SO COOL to have MOON ROCKS or MOON STONES that AFFECT WEREWOLVES.Ā
Not gonna lie, EAāI expected a fair bit more than this, since they took effing forever to make werewolves in the first place.
This derelict hick vibe is actually reminding me a lot of the godawful Werewolf Apocalypse Earthblood game that came out recently.
When I think of werewolves, I think of more Tuck Everlasting type cabin-in-the-woods off-the-grid living, with carvings and furs and firelight.
The water is glimmering in this brookādoes water in Glimmerbrook glimmer in Realm of Magic? Cuz I been said that that forested area should have been home to werewolves. Is this the magical effed up Tuck Everlasrting water that turns them into werewolves? Or am I asking too much to expect meta worldbuilding lore, EA? >_>
I just want adult wolves teach little wolf pups how to control their shifts so they can blend in with humans, not flashing their fangs and claws every time they throw a tantrum. And how to track animals prints in the snow and dirt, and scent trails, and pee and rub fur on stuff to mark territoryāand bird watch, and chop firewood, and carve wolf pack signs on tree trunks, and whittle, and do running races.
This better be REAL RACES, not just sims all running to the biggest tree to piss on.
I do like the tug of war.
Hopefully there are beta and omega ranks too though.
I like the wolf scratches everywhere.
I love that they shake water off like dogs.
Cute, but NOāI donāt want to COSPLAY as a wolfāI wanted sims to BE WOLVES. (If kids canāt turn into werewolves, like how in RoM kids canāt do magic, ISTG, EAā¦.)
So wolf heads is a happy compromise, IMO.
TL;DR: The trailer didnāt really show much of anything except fights, which worries me. I hoped theyād do a bit more to create a more fleshed out (LOL) werewolf culture, than merely scratching fleas, howling at the moon, and mauling each other to shreds.
And donāt think I didnāt notice how their fighting animation is the exact same one from TS3, when regular humans fightā¦.

They pop up out of the ground kinda like TS3ā²s Plantsims do when they photosynthesizeāthe animation was modded as a teleportation ability here that this is reminding me ofāis EA taking notesā¦.?
So, all in all, this game pack looks like itās at least doing more for werewolves than TS3 did, though from what Iām seeing this doesnāt look nearly as in-depth as the Vampires GP.
