Say You Will (2017) Directed by Nick Naveda
“I was thinking it was too cluttered, you know, I wanna wipe all this out and just concentrate on one main decorative statement. Like, uh – Marvin the Martian.”
me after doing some impulsive shit that i know im gonna regret later: its called being spontaneous
* promqveen / 𝐦𝐢𝐫𝐢𝐚𝐦 𝐡𝐚𝐫𝐭.
𝙬𝙝𝙤: mimi & clifford ( @grievents ). 𝙬𝙝𝙚𝙣: saturday morning. 𝙬𝙝𝙚𝙧𝙚: village grocery.
there’s never an ounce of peace for mimi in this town, not even while she’s attempting to grocery shop at the local store. rickety cart bouncing along the linoleum, she is always haphazardly careless, not noticing that the side of the cart is headed on a one-way track towards a pyramid stack of campbell’s soup. the cans fall, one by one, and then all at once, and she groans, loud and deliberate. “god damn it,” she growls, a fatigued expression twisting into something grotesque. she picks a few up, before sighing in frustration, kicking the cans aside as if she’s parting the sea of canned soup — she doesn’t even notice the front of her cart ramming into somebody else. “um, excuse me, i’m trying to get —” she doesn’t finish her sentence before her brain registers the person as someone too familiar, a face from years past. “cliff? is that really you?”
𝐡𝐞'𝐬 𝐥𝐨𝐬𝐭 𝐜𝐥𝐚𝐫𝐚 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐡𝐚𝐫𝐯𝐞𝐲 to the array of frozen tv dinners the next aisle over and his aimless dawdling, searching for nothing in particular as he makes his way through the shelves. by the time he rears his head at the sudden crash behind him and proceeds to retrieve a can or two from the floor, it’s too late to step away from the line of fire. he supposes he ought to have moved sooner, but another thing tells him it wouldn’t have made a difference. “ wouldn’t happen to be chicken noodle soup, would it ? ” he recoils with a light - hearted jest, holding up one of the fallen cans, now dented from the impact. his arms soon raised in faux surrender. “ guilty as charged. ” cliff narrowed his eyes while trying to put a name to her face before the dots finally connect. suddenly, all the chaos started to make sense. “ ---- miriam ? ”
* teddylebeau / 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐨𝐝𝐨𝐫𝐞 𝐥𝐞𝐛𝐞𝐚𝐮.
𝓬𝓵𝓸𝓼𝓮𝓭 𝓼𝓽𝓪𝓻𝓽𝓮𝓻 𝓯𝓸𝓻: cliff ( @grievents ) ᴛɪᴍᴇ: saturday afternoon sᴇᴛᴛɪɴɢ: al’s diner
in his usual manner when he’s hungover, teddy kicks open the diner door with his boot and drags his feet as he heads inside. “gladys, my love, please tell me you’ve discovered how to get coffee straight into my bloodstream.” teddy may be an asshole to almost everyone, but when it comes to his mom and her friends he can be sweeter than a slice of their apple pie they’ve got in the display case. he rests his hands on the counter not paying attention to who’s there until he has charmed himself a big cup of coffee. turning he spots a blast from the past and swallows hard. “hey… cliff?”
𝐬𝐨𝐦𝐞𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐚𝐛𝐨𝐮𝐭 𝐫𝐞𝐯𝐢𝐬𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐨𝐥𝐝 𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐨𝐮𝐭 𝐬𝐩𝐨𝐭𝐬 does little to hinder the looming nostalgia that follows him like a shadow in taunwick. he could turn a corner and be faced with another memory, not nearly as clouded as he would’ve preferred them to be in detail, certainly. it was bitter sweet, not unlike the lukewarm cup of coffee he nursed in his hands from a quaint table, settled on a stained coaster that dated back years -- another reminder that taunwick was still the same old town it had always been. cliff had brought the cup to his lips, savoring the irreplaceable distinction that set apart al’s coffee to anything back in new york, when a figure catches his attention. “ theodore lebeau. ” he sounds the name out on the tip of his tongue, lounging back against the seat in the time it takes to observe his former friend. “ you don’t look a day over sixty five. ”
brotp meme: nick & cliff
platonic meme ! no longer accepting. @dvthomcn
who steals french fries off the other’s plate : nick. but only after he refuses cliff’s offer of sharing. he smacks his hand away the first few times before giving in.
who jokingly moves in for the kiss when someone asks if they’re a couple : cliff. and he’s shoved away each and every time, but he still finds it hilarious. he’d play it up as much as nick would allow.
who has to bust or bail the other out of jail : nick bails out cliff.
who gives the other advice / comfort about dating issues : cliff hands out advice even if nick doesn’t want it, there’s never any choice in it. he has good advice-- at least for the most part.
who shamelessly cheats at games by reaching over to cover the other’s eyes : either would. but cliff likes playing fair, he’d call out cheating that wasn’t even happening. he’d start playing dirty if nick kept it up, though.
who immediately calls dibs on the top bunk : nick. despite cliff growing up in a big family, he lucks out when it comes to speed. nick was always a step ahead.
who starts and who wins the pillow fights : cliff starts them. nick wins.
who says “your pants would look better on their floor” to the other’s potential crush : cliff. absolutely cliff.

𝚆𝚈𝚃𝙷𝙴 , 𝚌𝚕𝚒𝚏𝚏𝚘𝚛𝚍 \ @grievents .
‘ OKAY , ‘ he starts , looking to the man he hadn’t seen in years . it felt strange , seeing cliff again after such a LONG TIME . a part of him felt guilty for pushing him out of his life , but another part of him SWORE it was for the best . ‘ you’ve got me here , so talk . say whatever it is you think i need to hear , cliff . ‘
𝐜𝐥𝐢𝐟𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐝 𝐡𝐚𝐝 𝐭𝐢𝐩𝐭𝐨𝐞𝐝 𝐚𝐫𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐝 whether or not reaching out to his old best friend was a wise idea with all that had occurred between them the last time they spoke, hesitating at every chance he got until he finally gathered the nerve to pull through and call. he was still surprised nick agreed, after everything . . . he would have expected the opposite to come of it, to instead be sitting in front of an empty seat as hours passed him by. he felt relieved, but that was soon replaced by the tension that hung in the air, making the atmosphere unpleasant -- and over all, it was awkward. that much he had anticipated. “ what, i can’t want to catch up with an old friend ? ” it’s his effort to lighten the situation, ease the sentiment behind what he had yet to confess. “ i missed you, nick. ”
Can’t believe I’m just so cool and sexy and it’s all because I’m bisexual
*Kirk gets his first girlfriend*
“If nothing else, I hope you know that I’m here for you. Even though we want different things. Even though love wasn’t enough. When you call, I’ll answer. When you scream, I’ll listen. When you need, I’ll give. When it comes to you, I don’t know how not to.”
