Borte allowed Ilberd to air his grievances, gaze sympathetic. Though she had not witnessed them with her own eyes, the Oronir woman had heard plenty about the Namazu and how… Troublesome, they could be.
❝It sounds like you definitely need a break, then.❞ She concluded, clasping her hands together.
❝Allow the Xaela to keep watch over them for a time,❞ she suggested, placing a gentle hand against the man's arm. ❝When was the last time you had a proper meal?❞
"Can't, I'm being paid to watch over them."
It was a simple commision he thought...simple in that he thought it would be easy but he had to prevent several fires and weapon misfires from the archery station.
"Well, Perhaps one bun would not hurt. But I'll pay, would you want one too?"
He opens his coin gil pouch.
chort.
twerks.
❝Are the Namazu giving you a hard time?❞
Having been preoccupied with her own tasks, Borte had not witnessed these fires with her own eyes. Setting aside the small satchel of herbs she had been gathering, she moved closer to the man.
❝You look as if you have been put through the wringer. Perhaps you should take a break?❞
"I feel as if , if I don't watch them for all hours as I can. the giant float will burn in fire."
The other tribes were helping, for sure but the namazu were a different breed of annoyance that filtered into rage and despair. Something this close to feeling despair should not be allowed to exist, but it does.
"They need more training, but ..."
A sigh.
"They are just tiring."

"These Namazu will be the death of me." it was said so dry, the river below might as well not exist. the steppes were a strange place, stranger now that more beast tribes more active beyond what is considered normal.
Especially that eagle eye namazu, scary to think of.
Already he had to put out several fires caused by the damm cat fish.
I imagine a ff7 verse would include a burning passion to see shinra burn.
"Ye worked taegether?" Meiko was surprised to hear that. Then again, she knew there were a handful of Beastmen tribes that were more cooperative than others. Still, before she could ask further, he brought up their mission at hand.
"--We're headin' tae the U'Ghamaro Mines near Camp Overlook. Kobolds live near the O'Ghomoro volcano there. They have bombs, aye. But so do wee goblins, an' they're everywhere."
It was a quiet journey, between locations. Having to be quiet to avoid fights, professional and silent. Of course being that there was only two of them, it was somewhat easier. and if things got worse, he got his skills to rely on.
"I see their bomb makers." it was at least not a queen bomb there and just the bomb machines. Alas, the stockpile was too much that it looked like they needed to destroy the machine itself.
The thing is what were the bombs for?
Ilberd has amazing thighs, a certain general can attest to it.
Meiko had mixed feelings around Alphinaud's endeavor. On one hand, it was a brilliant initiative that made sense -- one that she wished the leaders of Eorzea had put together instead -- but on the other, it was a lot of responsibility for such a young man. The lad was clearly wiser than his peers (and herself and many others included) but it was still a heavy burden, whether he embraced it or not.
It also didn't do his ego any favors, but she wouldn't comment on that.
"Familiar enough tae have dispatched quite a few." Did that sound like she was bragging? She wasn't! It was just normal for her by now! "Though I dinnae make a habit o' wanderin' intae their territory without cause. I presume there're beastmen in Gyr Abania where you're from?"
"Ay. But we worked well enough together. Just that it all fell apart when our king did." Echidna's among other things were a key factor to the success of Ala Mhigo, quiet a few were still left but he hasn't been to the lands since the invasion happened. Too worried now on working for the dead.
The beast tribe members were not exactly the most quiet bunch, kobolds most of all.
"Made the best jewelry, alas... My village barely had a scent outside of buying new seeds for crops."
"Can you see where the lads are going? Kobolds are the ones with bombs right?"
warrior of light ilberd au but there is going to be a lot more arguments. thankfully not the main wol but one of them.
warrior of light Ilberd would be the funniest but saddest thing ever.
@vierandancer
Beasts were also, victims of the bigger nations of the world. One that had allowed him to see that anyone could become like the empire if their nation became strong enough. Though as per usual, he adapts. He makes gestures, he makes sure his true thoughts never come out.
And with the strongest of warriors beside him, he'll have to be careful.
"I am familiar somewhat with the more dangerous packs roaming around, but say you. how familiar are you with the beast tribes?"
starter call.
