Reaper paled as that message appeared on their blog. No. Oh no. It was all their worst fears piled into one. The absolute worst case scenario. This wasn’t just some random prankster. This wasn’t a joke. This wasn’t a game.
The alternate they’d been seeing in the distance was finally making their move.
Reaper stood abruptly from the couch, frantically typing out a group text on their phone as they jumped timelines to the first place they needed to check on– Kale’s isolated code. There was no time to mess around. They knew themself too well for that.
This was beginning right now.
[ EVERYONE, lock down your timelines RIGHT NOW. an alternate has gotten hold of my blog and likely is coming after you. whatever you can do to fortify or hide yourselves DO IT. don’t delay, don’t respond, just GET YOURSELVES TO SAFETY. call me if you need me. PLEASE, be safe. ]
Except it was already too late.
Everywhere, the lights were going out… Literally and figuratively.
Timeline locks shattered like glass, the entity forcing their way in without hesitation or difficulty. One could only imagine the power they’d amassed to be capable of such a thing, tearing their way into one line after the next, their very presence making these digital realms shudder and spark.
It was fast, over in the blink of an eye.
A shadow in the corner of the room. Glowing eyes at the window. Footsteps, barely audible. It was different for each, but the results were the same. Vines crept quietly, filling the area with sweet-smelling blossoms… A soft, pale mist…
