Events Summary
As one final concluding act, I’ve decided to provide a summary of the future events I had planned for this blog; due to my withdrawal from the community they are effectively cancelled, but I still do want to offer some closure to those who wanted to know where the story was going.
I will also make it official that, for any muses which knew Reaper, they have simply vanished without a trace. They may be revisited in another form at some time in the future, but I cannot make any promises.
Regardless, I will cut to the chase, and place further information under the cut.
- HOPES AND DREAMS
A minor event in which, shockingly, Reaper and Champ’s world has abruptly been restored without any clear explanation-- but Reset to the beginning of the Dark World adventure. As a result, it becomes necessary to travel through the Dark world with Reaper’s companions-- ‘Raven’ Ralsei and ‘Saura’ Susie-- to set things right. However, it soon becomes clear that despite the Reset, certain bits and pieces of the original version remain... Moments of sudden fear from Raven and rage from Saura indicate echoes of their past memories resurfacing.
In the end the group is successful, not realizing that everything is going exactly according to the plans of Gastard and Integral-- the ones responsible for restoring Reaper’s world, using it as a way of studying not just Reaper but their friends as well... And seeding many of them with corruptive trojan horse viruses, leading into the next event.
At some point in the midst of all this, Reaper also would have begun to make the discovery that their body is degrading at a much higher rate than originally projected due to overuse of their powers, and sustained damage shattering souls at much too high of a rate. As a consequence they begin to withdraw further from intervening in other conflicts.
- GONE FERAL
In this event, Integral would activate viral data that multiple muses have been infected with through Feral and the Hopes and Dreams event, thereby placing those muses under her ‘control.’ Announcements of her orders would be periodically sent out, acting as prompts for muns to write with each other at their leisure. Most would direct characters to attack, betray, or sabotage those around them, either through direct violence, deceit, or spreading the infection further.
Shortly before the outbreak, Carla’s soul would have awoken from her coma at long last, placing her in the position of attempting to undermine the evil of her deranged alternate. Through her advice and information, multiple endings could be possible-- including the freedom of Feral from their Player, and potentially getting Integral to flip sides as well by revealing the truth; that she is not in fact dead, and has been manipulated and lied to by Gastard for his own selfish desires all this time.
However, this chaos made for the perfect testing ground of the Player supervirus, and a cover for their true aims; to weasel these bits of code into Reaper through their connection with Champ. This event would be the end of DeltaReaper Chapter 4, leading into the final chapter of the story-- in which Reaper is finally commandeered to become their ultimate weapon for control over all of cyberspace.
- SYSTEM RECOVERY / SYSTEM FAILURE
Depending on whether Feral and Integral were recruited alters the name of this big finale; if both are saved the event becomes System Recovery, in which they provide their aid, Feral is freed permanently, and Integral can be returned home. In System Failure, both are still working together with Gastard-- leading to a significantly more difficult Genocide Route final battle in which only Reaper has the potential to be rescued.
In both scenarios, the void where Gastard and Integral have been operating from is located(either by Carla and Charity or by Integral herself), leaving one final, dreadful trial; navigating a void of heavily corrupted data not unlike the broken reality Reaper’s world had resembled after its partial Erasure. In this collapsing structure, even logic and physics no longer function properly, creating a nonsensical funhouse of horrors in which losing one’s way can mean losing yourself forever. With Feral’s help this journey becomes easier, as their ability to view collision models rather than images means they cannot be fooled by optical illusions or tricks, acting as an effective guide.
But remember, only one thing persists in a reality where there is nothing else... Hold fast and Stay Determined, the final challenge is at hand.
In the end, the gathered group would finally be confronted with the puppet Reaper, used as a meat shield until they can be awakened enough to fight back against their Player’s control. At this point, Integral and Gastard are faced-- and regardless of which muses have flipped sides, the pair will forcibly fuse as Gastard absorbs her soul for the final battle.
If Integral has reformed however, she will consistently fight back much like the souls contained within Photoshop Flowey, providing openings to strike back. When weakened enough, he would be forced to release her soul-- which can either be shattered or returned to the real world. What is done with Gastard will not have any impact on how the event proceeds.
At this point the Void begins to collapse, and the group must flee. However, it soon becomes clear that this is not a perfectly happy ending.
The sequence of events has resulted in a massive amount of Reaper’s souls shattering, either from combat or from their own desperation. This has rapidly sped up the buildup of Toxic DT in their body, decreasing their time remaining from a year to mere weeks.
- [ NEW GAME ]
The conclusion of Chapter 5 and of the blog; at this point Reaper’s scores would be tallied to determine their ending. In a good ending, this would result in their Toxic DT level reaching a fatal level-- but instead of simply imploding from innumerable Resets in a distant timeline, after fleeing they [CALL FOR HELP] resulting in an opportunity to avert their final end.
If their corruption is 0%, their consciousness can be Saved and moved to a new, empty vessel with the potential to be an ordinary human this time around. If not, their data will be too corroded to survive a transfer intact, resulting in partial memory loss. Above 50% cannot be salvaged at all. An artificial or ‘empty’ soul must also be procured, as otherwise Reaper will be recovered without any sense of empathy or emotions.
If Charity and Fallen have not been removed before this event, they can be saved to new vessels regardless of stats.
After this their powers are reduced to ordinary LV 20 levels due to losing all souls other than their own. Fallen chooses to split their cracked soul in half, granting the other half to Charity so they can feel human again-- and resulting in each having only half of the stats of a LV 1 Frisk, but being effectively invincible from Fallen’s hack while working as one.
Feral and Charity go back to their original timeline together, Resetting it to achieve a Pacifist ending this time around. Champ, if provided with a new vessel, will return home as well and settle with their original family. If Integral was rescued, she will reawaken in the real world hospital where her body was comatose for all these years.
Reaper will stick with wherever they feel is right, likely moving in with a loved one to make a better, more peaceful life for themself. This time, they’ll make sure to get it right.
