Itâs been a brilliant first week of the Tomlinshaw Fic Exchange 2018. Here are the week one fics in one convenient list.
First for Friday :Â iâve a feeling itâs time to try (love it if we made it)
AU in which Nick is suddenly spending his Saturday mornings at a yoga studio and Louisâ eyes are quite unforgettable.
Nick is utterly and completely screwed, because he doesnât remember things about people he just met, just takes them back to his place for a night of fun or sucks them off in dodgy club loos. He gets infatuated, then bored once the excitement of having someone new runs out. The fact that this seems to be something completely new and different is doing his head in.
Saturday Booklyn 99 Shenanigans :Â the average foot speed of a corgi is ten miles per hour
Louis blinks. âYou do realize this is an awful idea.â
Nick is very aware of that, actually.
(In which Nick and Louis kiss each other, and degrees of professionalism vary.)
Sunday Heart in a Box :Â Empty Nights
Nick Grimshaw is struggling to adapt to his new job as host of Drive â heâs embarrassed about being âdemotedâ and, instead of confronting his feelings, heâs attempting to drink and party his woes away and is one drunken mistake away from being fired. Louis Tomlinson is still grieving his motherâs untimely death and is obsessed with writing the âperfectâ album in her honour, working all day and night, forgetting to eat and sleep and rarely leaving the house.
When Nick gets a phone call from Harry Styles asking him to go to the house of a 'friend of a friend of a friendâ to retrieve a mysterious biscuit tin he left there, Nick finds himself ringing the doorbell of Louis Tomlinson, the up-and-coming popstar he last met when he accidentally threw up all over him mid-radio interview. Louis shuts the door in Nickâs face so Nick decides his only course of action is to break in and steal the tinâŠ
And so begins a complicated, messy and not-always-law-abiding journey of two men who might think they hate each other but are actually meant to be. If they could only pull their heads out of their arses, theyâd work that out. And maybe theyâd even find out whatâs inside Harryâs mysterious biscuit tin âŠ
The best thing about a Monday ever :Â happiness hits like a train on a track
âThis is where daddy lives, Penny. This is where I am when Iâm not with you.â He picks her up and puts her on his hip. âItâs not the biggest.â
Or, the one where single father Louis is set up on multiple dates and none of them seem to take.
Trope for Tuesday Hurt Comfort Version :Â Will you love me when my phone turns off?
Louis thinks that thereâs a part of him that knew this was going to happen. That the reaction wasnât going to be great. That people would find everything they could wrong with it. Maybe thatâs why he didnât want to show Nick. Or why he told Nick not to stay home with him today for this incredibly momentous occasion. Maybe thatâs why he didnât schedule any interviews or listening parties today.
In hindsight, Louis totally knew. Doesnât make it hurt less, though.
OR: Louis is sad and Nick takes care of him
Trope for Tuesday Bookshop AU version :Â dead set on a getaway
âNick,â Gemma says, smiling like the cat thatâs got the cream, âIâd like you to meet your new trainee, Louis.â
âHello,â Louis says, holding his hand out to shake, and raising one eyebrow when Nick takes a bit too long to react.
âHiya,â Nick says, when his brain starts working again. âItâs nice to meet you.â
Mid-week five times better : Come and Get Your Love
Five times Louis and Arlo went to Nick and Lizzieâs house, or vice versa, plus one time it was the same house.
Theatre Thursday :Â Loving someone.
@TommoLou: âpity he keeps being given such roles because he doesnât even have to playâ at least iâm not shitting what everyone likes just to get famous you fucking loser
@heavytheaterlover: just made me even more famous darling
____
or a theater au where nickâs the most pretentious scenic designer stuck in his existential crisis and louis is an actor whoâs made some poor life choices and now doesnât know what to do
Friday fun and water hazards :Â oh, i just want you to come with me
In which Louis has a new flat, a new neighbour, a dog and water sprinklers that just wonât stop. Also in which boys canât communicate, everything goes wrong and we all wish dogs could talk to tell their owners to stop acting like a bunch of fools.Â
đ Massive love and awestruck love heart eyes to all our brilliant authors - and - to everyone reading and kudos-ing and commenting and sharing along. âšđđ
