ELIJAH & THEO:
Theo was aware that on paper, Tess and Theo didn’t make all that much sense. But if Theo was supposed to explain the feelings he felt for her in words, well there was no chance. They were just–feelings, ones he had zero intention of ignoring. As they found each other sitting beside one another at Tric, their lives on completely different paths, over time those parallel lines seemed to blur and suddenly they were intertwined. It wasn’t supposed to happen. But it did and it felt right. It felt like the two them were able to find peace with each other and wasn’t that what everyone was really looking for? A sense of peace and calm–a home? “I don’t know any of the rules.” Theo ran his fingers through his hair, chuckling at Elijah. “Look, this is more about our parents than it is about us. If I had my way we’d just go out with the people that mean the most to us and cheers and make merry. I don’t need all this and I don’t care if you bail either. Wouldn’t mind sneaking out of this party with Tess myself.” He looked around for her, seeing her with her aunt and uncle. A soft smile hit his features. His brow furrowed at that explanation for his return but he nodded, giving Elijah the benefit of the doubt given that he hadn’t seen him for a while. “Who would’ve thought Tree Hill was where all the money was. Well I’m glad to have you back man.” He gave him a pat on the shoulder, squeezing his hand before withdrawing it. Theo had to chuckle. It was evident that Elijah was in fact, the exact same man that he’d known all too well. “Yeah you bet on Madison, I mean easy bet she’s clearly the cutest. I just want to see this Peter character get raked over the coals like he deserves.” Theo leaned up against the bar, taking a sip of his beer briefly as he thought back on how it all happened fondly. “Well we just started talking a while back and we kept it real with each other. And one thing led to another where we just kept talking. It was never meant to be anything more than a friendship but we started to realize that there was something between us. And I knew there was nobody else I’d rather spend my life with, after a while she was just–home. So I took her down by the river, lit up the dock, got down on one knee and the rest is history.” He smiled softly with a nod, just glad to see his friend in the flesh at his engagement party. As much as he was fighting off his aversion to the stuffiness of this party, if he was being honest, it all felt pretty special given that it was to celebrate him and Tess.
Elijah wasn’t trying to poke holes where there didn’t need to be any but there were holes. Tess was -- mhm -- even in his mind he was not able to come up with the right term, she was not a bitch that was too broad and she lacked elements that were needed to fulfill that description but she was rather complicated. So complicated that he had never thought Theo would actually be on board of dating Tess much less marrying her, “Listen if this is some plot your parents have come up with just blink twice and I will take you out of here,” He did not put it past his parents hell he did not put it past Tess’s parents, in reality all of the parents in Tree Hill would love to go back to the years were arrange marriages were a thing. That way they could justify the need of being in the middle of their grown ass children’s lives and their need to meddle in it. “I am just saying this is kind of left field. It’s like if I came back home and told you that I was engaged to Ellie Barnes you would be doing a double take -- actually now that she has been brought up where the hell is Liam?” Wasn’t there a triangle of some sorts in the middle of all this? How had Theo established himself the winner in this? “Madison was the only real one there. You still can’t not make me believe that Hannah Ann was actually in love with Peter and was not there for the followers and the ads that will help her pay for her new apartment? And Victoria F. Well let’s just pretend that mess did not ever happen. I just pray that man finally moved out of his parents folks and is able to live in his own house and make decisions,” Though getting a apartment was something that would require various decisions and if the show had proven anything it was that that man could not make one to save his life. “I think we both know that eventually I was going to be dragged back to this town -- does anyone really escape Tree Hill?” Elijah had thought he would be one of the few that did but here he was, but there was no resentment. Being back home just meant having to start over in a place where he had history. “That is cheesy. I -- well Theo if you’re happy and you’re sure about this then I am going to be right behind you. Just Tess? I mean -- still wrapping my head around that. She was a monster -- a nice monster? You know what i mean.”
After coming dragging her brother back home which was only done after she had been able to locate him, Evelyn found herself to be exhausted. The woman was emotionally and physically drained. Her encounter with Kevin had been too much but at the same time exactly what she needed to close the chapter on that. Taking her shoes off, she leaned on the wall for support and then proceeded to look for Axel. The two had decided to go back to a town where their exes were, probably not the smartest idea in the world. Locating him she made her way towards him, taking a sit right beside him, “Tell me your day went better than mine. Because mine went something like this -- my brother spat at me telling me he wished I was dead and I was ruining his high,” literally ruining it since she managed to get him to the hospital and have him clean, though the detox was going to take place tomorrow and off he would go to rehab, “Then Kevin just told me how useless and pathetic I am to put my mental health first and not jump into motherhood. So at least tell me you managed to get laid.”

ROBERT & CHRISTAL:
“Who the fuck really cares?” Robert questioned, “how many chances are we supposed to give these people when they don’t change?” Robert was not hopeful when it came to the Clarks–or those particular ones anyway. Juliette seemed to be the only one who had her shit reasonably together. And even that was ‘reasonably’ and not entirely. Robert had gotten over his fear of magic, he had gotten over a lot. But he couldn’t exactly forget that the Clarks were the one who had put him in this position. “Can’t we deal with this shit and do the other things?” he said, “before we’re once again caught completely unprepared and can’t do anything about it.” The Clarks always seemed to use people’s sense of security to really fuck them over. The thing that really troubled him was the fact that Felicity was inevitably going to try and help both sides. Protect everyone but not go against the Clarks. It would take something big for that to happen. And unfortunately Everett getting back with Thea was not big enough to push her over the edge. At least not while she was making progress with Justin. Maybe if everything blew up he wouldn’t wind up torn between the side he wanted to be on and the side he was obligated to be on. “I know, you’re right,” he admitted, “there’s literally nothing I can do anyway to get ahead of it. Why bother even trying?”
Christal understood the annoyance that came with Jeremiah; with the Clarks -- hell with the supernatural world and not knowing what was about to come next. She knew it. The blonde was not a huge fan of it but this was the life that she had been given and she had taken decisions that had led her here. Making her way over to Robert, she gently guided him backwards towards the nearest sofa in their place -- such a strange concept to think about their sofa -- who would’ve imagined that after all the punches that they each gave each other that they were able to finally make something that resembled a home. Pushing him down carefully she ended up climbing onto his lap, “I think we should just play it by ear, how bad can it be? I don’t think Juliette is going to welcome Jeremiah back with open arms and Jeremiah isn’t stupid enough to start war world three all on his own. I think we just enjoy these moments we have and prepare ourselves for whatever shit storm is about to come,” Though she had a pretty wild imagination of what was going to come -- and even with it she did not know how she was suppose to protect them -- how they were going to protect themselves from the shit storm that was about to start. “Rumor is that Jeremiah has thrown his name into the hat for Thea’s affections too so maybe Everett walks out of this with no one and chooses his family for once and doesn’t fuck up.Exactly, you’re just going to end up getting stressed out, just come on -- get your mind off it.”
FELICITY & EVERETT:
“Fine,” Felicity said, “since we cannot do civility and honesty I’ll go.” That wasn’t a lie, their civility seemed to hinge on him lying. Sure a truth spell would be a convenient way to get answers out of him but even that was something she’d consider low. She was running out of reasons to stay in this town anyway. Maybe the thing to do would be to just call it quits and get out. Rob could move on with Christal, nearly everyone she’d sworn to protect would be safe–it was more tempting than she cared to think about at the moment. Who gave a shit if the Clarks burned this place to the ground? The only reasons she had to play nice with them were gone or seemed to enjoy lying to her face. She was sick of the rug being pulled out from under her. “Enjoy whatever you’re going to do with the town,” she said, her mind slowly making up towards how good an idea leaving actually was when you looked at everything. With a direction more in mind she began to think about the things she’d have to do to expedite getting the hell out. The Pack was definitely ready to move on from this madness anyways. With Mellie gone her obligation was fully to them now. “Just do me a solid and burn that stupid farm house to the ground at some point.” Sure maybe she would regret losing one of the houses that she had helped raise Mellie in, but then again she;’d had houses burn before. In the end the world just kept spinning. After all, that was why you had insurance.
The entire thing was funny. Setting aside the fact the emotions that were tied to the situations regarding everyone involved, it was funny. Everett could talk to Thea and tell her that he had no fucking idea what was going on with him and wish her to date his cousin. Then on the other hand Everett could not stand being near Felicity or hear her because it just ended up in a fight, and she hadn’t even tried to be civil without a bark. His hands dug deep into his front jacket as he studied the woman and nodded. The last thing the two of they needed is for him to open up a door -- because if he did then it would all be blamed on him again; except this time she would be in the right since it would be his big mouth that would start something. It appeared as almost she was saying that she was leaving, which again ironically he had no say in. So far today he had come to the conclusion that he did not know where his feelings were -- if he was in love with either of these women any longer or it was just something in the past -- and that he had no say regarding what either one of they decided to do. In all it was a great fucking day. Maybe he could take up smoking now, or take up the offers of doing weed. Then she mentioned the farm house, for someone that hated the dramatics she sure was full of it. Or maybe he had become truly apathetic towards everything for the longest time. Either way he smiled and nodded, “If that is what you want, I’ll do it. Though I am sure you are more than capable of burning things down yourself” She had done it with them. Burn and walk away -- but then again it was he who was to be blamed for everything.
CALLUM & JUSTUS:
“To be fair, I try not to think about any of your family members fucking. I like to imagine you all just appeared one day,” he said. Even though he said it as someone who had fucked a Clark, fucked and married one. He still didn’t like to think about the rest of them doing the nasty. “I don’t think you can blame anyone for assuming that the two of them are together again since you all have been running around hiding Jeremiah together,” he gave a simple shrug, “it baffles me why anyone would want to date Felicity. But it was obvious to anyone not blinded by that your cousin wasn’t over Thea,” he smirked, “don’t tell me you didn’t see it too. You’re smarter than that,” he folded his arms, “or did you know and just decide not to say anything so this would happen? That’s a level of manipulation I’d respect to be honest.” He doubted it though. Justin seemed to have to be pushed very hard to make moves against his own family in such a blatant way. Though his most recent actions would say otherwise. “Honestly the only other member of your family that I’ve met is Alejandro. Briefly. But I don’t see much in common between any of you.” He could see why Justin wanted there to be things in common with them. That lingering love of family. “Actually maybe all of you are just very good at lying to yourselves,” he offered, “I suppose that’s something in common after all.” Callum wasn’t surprised to hear that Jeremiah’s plan was to come after him and Juliette, it made sense in how Jeremiah acted. “I guess your brother does want a war after all,” he said, “since we both know if anything happens to our child, he’ll have killed the closest thing our covens have to an heir. And they won’t stand for that a second time. No matter what any of us say.” It would be unfortunate to go to war but Callum knew it was nearly inevitable at this rate and with the shit the Clarks kept pulling.
“I knew. We all knew.” Justus would make the case that even Felicity had known but decided to turn a blind to it but he could see Callum’s perspective. Perhaps they were great liars to themselves. After all Justus for the longest time had refused to accept that their family was as fucked up as everyone else made them out to be. “You think Felicity has ever listened to me? Besides the one time that I helped her because our siblings had fucked up. Niche. Nothing. Singer held priority over me and then it was Everett.” Whoop there it was. Why Justus always felt second best to the entire clan. Now why was he deciding to disclose to Callum was beyond him, though most of the blame was to be put onto the truth spell that was going around right now. “Felicity thinks we’re all idiots and we’re just here living in it. I told Felicity not to date Everett. Tried telling her it was too soon since Thea had come back and confessed she was still in love with. Told her that it was stupid to just run with love and forget the fact that she was dealing with Thea, a sister. Did she listen to me?” Justus wasn’t going to feel bad with how things had played out. He had taken Felicity’s side, he had told Thea she had fucked up the relationship with Everett and just to leave but he was well aware with who he was dealing with. He did his best to tried and protect Felicity, but you can’t protect someone that doesn’t listen and always thinks they know better than you. “At least Alejandro and Preston are both smart enough not to be involved in all this,” he hoped that they stayed wherever they had decided to go and not come back, he couldn’t take another family member coming back. “I am aware of that. Now you know that you have a war coming soon. Not to mention I’ve heard horror stories of Juliette pre Callum Miller -- and yes they actually do use that as a history time period. With Mellie gone, who do you think got the transfer of power?”
BEN & JULIETTE:
Ben had been anticipating her telling him to let Jeremiah live. It wasn’t a surprise to hear her utter the words. Hell he couldn’t even say it was entirely a disappointment. If she gave him the okay it would have meant she learned her lesson, but clearly they weren’t there yet. “I mean that’s where I thought you’d stand anyway,” Ben said, leaning against the desk, “if you fight me you fight Callum’s family and I’d at least trust you not to put him in that position more than he already is.” The spell was certainly going to make things awkward. They would just have to get through it he supposed. He didn’t want to commit to one side or the other on the Jeremiah front. He couldn’t. Besides Jeremiah was a symptom, if he killed him chances were he would just come back. Ben knew he’d have to be smarter than that. “If I was going to go after Jeremiah I’d have to go after your cousin too,” he said simply, “as long as one of them is alive the other is coming back. I think we’ve established that by now.” Her next question caught him off guard. He and Ezri didn’t talk about that time. It just kind of sat there unspoken between them. “Our relationship was already broken when she lost the kid,” he said, “that’s why I didn’t know until everything happened,” he folded his arms, “everything else had a bigger impact. Me dying, the whole Sam thing, the kid was inconsequential compared to the rest of it.” It had never seemed real to him, maybe because he had been so removed from everything. He didn’t even have time to think about being a dad before the kid was gone. “It was a shit time for everyone. You included. We all just dealt with it in shit ways. Or not at all.”
“To be fair Jonathan was not the one that brought Jeremiah back,” If they wanted to be a family then she was going to call everyone by their given name and not the one that they had just made up and picked up. That was not how this was going to work. Her fingers traced the backbone of the books as she stopped turning around to look at him, they were just going to have to figure out how to survive this conversation with just the truth spilling into the air. “If I said otherwise your brother would be telling me not to do it myself, so for now this is the best thing that works for everyone and my marriage,” If Jeremiah or Everett were going to die it was going to be by her. The world did owe her that much in all the giant mess that there was. The brunette walked forward as she pulled the chair in front of the desk before sitting down as she listened to his honest explanation of things, did she enjoying taking advantage of the spell not at all but the clock on her was running, of course she had heard about the Sam mishap and what not. The tea in this town had a way of always making its rounds, “So you’re saying if shit blows up then a losing a baby just gets looked over? Should’ve just left Ezri there then.” The kid would’ve died but she doubted they would’ve killed Ezri, the whole reasoning that she had done was to save the baby because it meant something, “Mellie is gone. Think that might affect your friend Felicity.”
KEVIN & EVELYN:
“Yeah, you know, the guy who shot me in the chest a bunch of times after I murdered his sister,” Kevin said, “the guy.” He couldn’t believe that Evelyn was living with him of all people. No more than he could believe that Ezri was still in love with him. But Kevin had zero interest in being involved in any love triangles. Not to mention the fact that he had a kid so that obviously came first. “No, Ezri keeps tabs on Axel because there’s a whole thing there. I keep tabs on him because I’d like to not get shot again.” As far as he was concerned if they started dating and wound up marrying each other, he was going to wear a bullet proof vest to the wedding. He listened to Evelyn rant and shook his head. “You’re not a shitty mother,” he said, “you’re not there. I don’t think that makes you any kind of mother.” Shitty or not if she was there he had to believe they could have figured something out. Or maybe that was him just trying to believe he could not fuck something up spectacularly. “Don’t flatter yourself, my life was already complicated long before I met you, it’s complicated long after you left.” Kevin wasn’t going to give in and admit she had changed everything. That would be like admitting his parents or Ms. Katherine had shaped his life. He was a stubborn ass like that but his stubbornness knew no bounds. “You’re right it’s not my concern. Fuck or snort whoever or whatever you want.” Illegal substances had never been his thing but the freedom to do whatever he wanted or go wherever he wanted was something he missed. Deeply. “It’s already forgotten. Hope you find whatever it is you’re looking for. I have to get back so the babysitter can go home.”
She laughed, she laughed because he really was standing on nothing but lord forbid the individual that told the great almighty Kevin that. Every time she tried to get words out a laughter ended up coming out instead. “You’re unbelievable,” were the two first words that were audible that came out of her mouth. The woman had needed that, a second of pure laughter in the middle of the hell that she was in, she could appreciate that. “Says the guy that moved in with his ex not even a year after ending whatever we had? You really want to act like you get to pretend to be hurt by what I do or who I decide to be room mates with. Ah -- yes he also keeps track of Ezri. They’re kind of in love -- I do hope you do know that,” Then again it appeared that Kevin liked coming in second all the time even when he had someone that had once put him first. “Then I am glad nothing has changed for you regarding the big oh complicated life you have,” There it was, the sharp tongue that she had once had, the sharp tongue that had saved her so many times, it was a lifetime ago that she had managed to hear it again. “Right god forbid you think of anything but yourself. -- and don’t say the daddy thing makes it about everyone but you because even that -- you managed to make it about you. Love how you skipped the information I just shared,” It was her brother, but yeah she was the one even if she had just disclosed that. Somehow everything always ended up being about Kevin, it was there where she just waved her hand to make him just shut the fuck up, “Just go, I ain’t holding you up.” She moved past him as she proceeded to take a table besides the window to figure out what her next step would be.
HANNAH & TOBIAS:
A man in town that possessed manners? Well, colour her shocked. Was he a god damn unicorn in a sea of freakin’ snakes? Either way, he made a far point. “I’ll give you that. It’s just a foreign concept ‘round here.” She admitted, knowing that whilst it had been a few years since her last visit to town, she knew it’s residents pretty damn well at this point, and the types of people that this place seemed to lure in. “I don’t really have any family, sorry for the downer there, but I guess my surrogate family, of sorts.” And by that, she had meant Justus. Sure, their history was complex, and even now, something she didn’t fully understand, he was still very much her person in a lot of ways. He was one of the few that really knew and understood what made Hannah tick. As a human. As a witch. And, perhaps even as a vampire. But, he hadn’t really known that version of her; she wouldn’t allow anyone to. Unfortunately, she wasn’t the same doe-eyed woman that this town had once known, her transition made sure of that. And now? Well, she had mostly come to grips with whoever, and whatever, she was. “Well, as a newbie, I’m not sure you should be subjected to a lot around here. But, you could maybe handle the coffee shop just around the corner. It’s quiet, and the tea is pretty fantastic.” Not to mention that if she recalled correctly, they laced it with vervain even to this day; so unfortunately she was no longer able to indulge in the liquid, but she had recalled the herbal tea being pretty damn delicious at the time. “And if that doesn’t take your fancy, well, I think maybe you shouldn’t graduate from your hotel room just yet. Maybe give it another week before you brave The Grill, or Town Square though?” There was a part of her that just wanted to warn him to get the hell out of dodge whilst he still could, but could a stranger really get away with that out of nowhere? Not to mention she wasn’t about to try and compel the man, not when she didn’t know who or what he was.
“Surrogate family?” Tobias had done his research when it came to this town, it was what he did. He was a giant nerd and he was not ashamed of this. However there was a question that he had not been able to figure out yet, did people just announce their supernatural status or was it a secret? With how many of them were walking around he kind of thought that it was humans that needed to be the ones that wear their name-tag or something like that. “That is going to be fun I suppose. Okay, well that sounds like something that I am going to do. Do you want to come along or do you have someone that you should get back to?” Rosa was probably doing her own thing right now or probably telling Juanes off. He had limited hopes that those two had probably finally decided to call what they had something and done well anything with it so he was willing to placing money that there was probably a lot of yelling being done in their coven. “No, think I am ready to get out. Or go back to living with my sister in our house but I am hoping that I can avoid that just a tad bit longer you know?” He smiled before he threw his cig onto the floor and crushed it with the sole of his shoe. “Not like I could get out of this town if I wanted so I guess I should probably learn the few places that can give me some decent comfort while going through this adventure, would you not agree?” She appeared to have her own ghosts when it came to this town, as if she was not ready to deal with whatever she had left the first time that she had left, but that was personal history and it didn’t concern him.
ELIJAH & FAYE:
Faye offered Elijah a soft smile, dropping her head gently with a nod. “I bartended all through college–and waitressed. Helps to pay for college and vet school bills really so–” But it was also because she lived alone and liked being around people–well sort of. People weren’t always her speed but sitting around and reading just wasn’t really her style. She liked to be active and busy. Her eyebrows raised with another soft smile at his description of Tess, “He really seems to be smitten with her. They seem to complement each other.” She nodded to the two of them who’d found themselves amidst the crowd. As he spoke Faye listened to Elijah explain all that had changed. It wasn’t really rocket science though when he’d been gone for so long. Elijah always seemed like one who had intentions of getting out of the small town life. But now he was back which made her wonder why but she wouldn’t ask because Faye wasn’t one to pry into another’s life. Besides she was working anyway. “Why is it so crazy I’m a bartender?” She asked with silly, bright smile. “I’ve been really good. In the last year I opened my own vet clinic in town and business has been great. Other than that though, not all that much. What about you?” She offered back as she pulled out the bottle of whiskey, “On ice?”
“ -- It’s just Tess Jenner, you know?” Did no one understand his cynicism towards all this? When he had gotten the wedding invitation he had thought it was a joke, a way for Theo to get the entire band back into town. Something to bring everyone together not an actual wedding but here he was at the engagement party. Turning his body as to expand his view he was able to locate his best friend easily and assumed the blonde he was close to was Tess. Was he being judgement by being so harsh on Tess? Maybe she had changed, perhaps she was a different woman now. Then again Elijah was not a huge believer that people actually changed who they were. “He probably is but is she? -- is she smitten or is she just settling because Liam is not here?” This was one of his best friends, not just any guy that he could slap the back of and send him to hell. “I just thought you were bigger than this town but I know, not everyone wants to leave this town like I. Yes please. I finished law school, passed the bar, got married and then divorced and now I am back home. Just checking on Atlas,” his half sister really was about to start going to go through her own hell once the divorce came out, “Yes. So what else has changed? Are you and Atlas still friends?”
LUCAS & NATALIE:
“You know that’s·a disturbingly low bar,” Lucas remarked. It was. His parents had been cool and they could do better, but they had done better than actively trying to murder her. Maybe they would have back when he had first lost his sight, but Lucas hadn’t been willing to risk that. Now it was an old wound and, well, he was still not willing to risk it. Which was why he had put a ring on Nat’s finger.·“Of course not,” Lucas dismissed,·“you’re a hunter whose married a witch and lives in a coven full of them,” he said,·“I think it’s pretty awkward on all sides of the equation.” Natalie being a hunter had never been an issue for him. It was who she was, he had no choice but to accept all of her or none of her. When he’d first fallen for her he had been young and stupid and just gone for it.·“As much as I value being here and safe, I’m going to be closer than that.” He knew Nat and her aunts history, or he knew what she had told him, and letting her get into trouble was not something he planned on just allowing.·“A city,” he said,·“I’ll compromise on a city away.”·
“It is but your family has done ten times better than what my aunt would’ve expected.” When her aunt had found out that Lucas was a witch, she had done her best to try and scare Natalie away from him by putting ideas in her head such as images that his family would rather have her sent to another dimension than to be with Lucas or other more descriptive plots that she had done her best to dismiss. At the end of the day she had placed her bets on knowing what kind of man Lucas was, even when she had lost on various occasions as he had with her they still managed to end up together. “It is. But being your wife makes it all worth it,” She commented as she bumped her shoulders with hers, she had managed to be doing her best lowering her walls down, “A city is a fine compromise. I think I can live with that. It’s going to be fine. It’ll work out and we will never have to hear about my aunt again,” she stated in a tone where she was trying to ensure herself that this was the right thing to do, after all she had no other option. “There is no other alternative, right?”
ANDREA & CAMERON:
A soft smile hit Andrea’s lips but it seemed when it came to Cameron these days, it was a smile that would never reach her eyes. That just wasn’t something Andrea could fake. But at the same time, she did feel a soft happiness inside when he asked for a water with lemon. Growing up glasses of water always came with lemons and once she became a teenager, Andrea suddenly was against lemons in her water. She felt it was so silly when water was just meant to be water and she resented the bourgeoisie of it all. But of course, Cameron had taken a liking to it and disarmed her childish anger. Even so, she was often so in need of water from working on the shed out back that cutting up a lemon wasn’t really on her priority list these days. But regardless, it was a part of her routine to buy lemons for water at the grocery store and so, of course she had some on hand. The memories of all that, however painful they were in this moment, still made her smile. “I don’t have any slices, but you can cut some up.” She pushed the words out, sliding into the stool on the center island of her kitchen. Andrea was so incredibly defeated that Cam was over here dropping off her stuff. It was like he was trying to get rid of her. She wanted to mad at him and part of her was for making her feel this horrible. But she had to remind herself that she had put herself in this position, not him. Besides, how was he to know how much seeing him with Christina was actually tearing her up inside. “I suppose. This is when I’m glad that I work from home I guess. Although I do need to go out and get materials so–” Her hands clamped together softly as she ignored the reason why he’d shown up here in the first place. But that was not going to work as she heard Cam continue. Andrea frowned as she nodded, trying to accept this horrible fate she’d brought on herself. “I appreciate it…” She spoke softly, running her hands through her sweaty, greasy hair. If she was trying to impress Cam with what he was missing out on she was sure that it wasn’t happening right now. Although, Christina was gorgeous so Andrea wasn’t even sure if she could compete with that on her best day. “It’s just…so final.” She pushed a breath out, “I guess I can’t sit here and pretend that it doesn’t hurt.”
“I can do that,” Cameron consider the time he had with Andrea priceless. Who knew when she would have that itch to leave town again and he would be left in the dust to deal with nothing but the memories of her. He wanted to resent her, to perhaps have some hate harboring for her but he had none. At the end of the day he understood why Andrea did what he did, it had taken him a couple of months to see that she was more than this town. That she deserved to have that life that he was not able to provide for her. Cameron on the other hand was a simple man, as long as he was able to be a software engineer, have his boat and his guitar well there was nothing else that he needed. This had never truly pleased his parents who had hoped that he would go to the big city and get his own company off the ground and launch it but he figured if he did that he would not have enough time for his own hobbies. That he would not be able to actually do the things that he wanted because he would be busy making sure that his company was honest and doing things right, that was the downfall of being a perfectionist he would be stressing over the smallest things. Whereas when he worked for someone else then that liability and entire mess was over someone else’s head and not his. Moving into the apartment he realized that the signs that he had ever once shared a living space with her were all gone now, all erased. He did not have some random jacket laying on the sofa or had left his ear phones laying on a corner table -- something that had once driven Andrea mad. There were no slippers left behind and no graph paper with chicken writing on it. It was as if the life that they had once shared had never taken place. He had been eradicated -- erased -- forgotten. He couldn’t help but wonder if she felt this way as well. “I think our break up was finalized when you got on the plane and left,” That was when he knew there was no going back -- no make up sex -- no second backs or regrets, “Not blaming you,” he quickly added as he walked towards her fridge and pulled out lemons, “I just am saying once you got on that plane and took your stuff -- that was when I realized I had lost you. Not that you’re something for me to have -- just the concept of us was over there. At least us the romantic sense. It hurts me too, Andrea. It does.”
JAY & JUSTUS:
“That wasn’t an insult, you’ve come closer to dying more than any immortal I know.” Justin had never pulled it off but he had come close many, many times. Jay rolled his eyes at Justin’s words. He was starting to think that Justin was so stuck in the past he would never see what was in front of him. “You know it’s almost funny because before all of this, you were still on the ‘I’m not an Adolph’ train. Interesting how you’re suddenly back on.” Jay had always known that Justin was an Adolph and a Clark but Justin had lost sight of it. “I chalked it up to you being dramatic, not the fact that you didn’t have your younger sibling in town. You make me grateful for my father being cursed.” Jay was an only child because his father had been exceedingly stupid and getting himself cursed that he’d never have more children. Which was perfect for his mother who had seduced his father in order to get his wealth and power. Jay had betrayed his family, his friends, everyone he ever loved. It was good he was an only child, all things considered. “Is that different from your regular suit? All you ever wear is black anyway.”
“And would’ve pulled it off if people knew to stay in their lane,” Unlike Jeremiah Justus had never wanted to come back alive, he was fine being gone. “Yeah, I guess you are right,” When push came to shove Justus was still a family man and that was not going to change, this time it happened to be Thea before that it had been Felicity and Alejandro and Preston -- they had all taken their turns of when Justus came and did his best to protect them, that was his innocence at the end of the day. Believing that with everything as fucked up as it was with the Adolphs there was still a family to fix and now he was involved in two fucked up families -- it was the gift that never stopped giving apparently. “I’m dramatic? Funny because I swear last time I saw you, you were doing the drama role about your powers and you’re still in that act,” Watching Jay panicing somehow brought him some laughter in his life, it probably was not a good sign for their relationship -- their nonexistent relationship. “I’m glad I can help you appreciate the small things. Lord knows you need to be more humble and thankful for shit,” he concurred as he cracked his knuckles, “It never goes out of style.”
KEVIN & EZRI:
Kevin cringed at the mention. He hadn’t forgotten, just kind of blocked it out. “I didn’t–” he stopped, “I was hurt, we both hurt each other,” he said. They had. She had left and he had tried to pull himself away from the other half of his heart. “Besides I didn’t think you really wanted to be with me,” he admitted. He hadn’t believed her, he just thought she missed having him around. After all he’d followed her there when she had told him to go and moved onto the couch . “I can’t imagine him not loving you after everything,” Kevin said. He’d seen how over the moon Ezri was about Axel. Which was a sharp contrast to how things had been when they had been sleeping with each other. He still couldn’t call what they had a relationship, but he supposed he couldn’t really call what he had with Evelyn that either. “You shouldn’t be having a mid life crisis. You’ve got your whole life ahead of you,” Kevin said, “and take it from someone who has a kid without her mom, you don’t want to rush into things.” It still broke his heart and his mom was a fucking nightmare. He was better off without either of his parents but he always hoped if he ever had kids he’d be able to give them something more than what he had. “You’ll figure it out. Maybe try talking to him and leave the weaponry at home.” He couldn’t believe that he was advising someone to talk to Axel without heavy artillery and a bullet proof vest but he knew that Ezri could handle herself and he doubted Axel would do anything to hurt her. “Best way out of a crisis is to start moving.”
“We had but you made a choice at the end of the day,” He had chosen Evelyn, she had thought that everything would’ve worked out with them and that one day down the road they would end up being friends. “I did. Not like me to actually fight for someone but you had already made a choice and I was too late. I think relationships are like that. The timing has to be right and you both have to make the choice to fight for it otherwise the moment just passes away from you and you lose it.” If Kevin and her had gotten together when they were teens, had they been honest from the start then Axel wouldn’t had stood a chance but then Axel came and roles started to change. “I don’t think he doesn’t love me. I just think that he doesn’t understand the concept of being together of actually being a couple you know? I want someone that is there for me during the good and the bad times -- not just when things are easy and I want him to live a honest job,” which lord knew that was going to be the hardest thing for Axel to do if they ever did decide that they wanted to do this. As far as she knew she was still living in a dream land because none of this was going to be real, “And then I hear myself talking and know that I have to be real. And in the real world if Axel and I ever were meant to be then I will have to compromise a lot because a white picket fence is not a life for him -- like having a kid -- I don’t think that would be something that would fit with us. If there even is a us.” Which was such a far fetch dream that just made her moan as she buried her face in her hands, her fingertips pushing her forehead skin above, “I am not that great when it comes to being honest and I think I am just being an idiot. I see him Kev, and all I see is every pain he ever did and then when I don’t have him I just miss him. I miss him so much that sometimes I think I smell his scent -- what if he’s now dating Evelyn?”
ROBERT & CHRISTAL:
Logically he knew that she was right, but it was hard to hear that with the anger and frustration coursing through his veins. The anger itched under his skin, like it was feeding off of itself. And his jaw hurt. That was a sobering enough realization to at least get him to pull back from the rage, just a little. The last thing they needed to add to this equation was a giant black eurasian wolf. This was the danger of being a newer wolf, even though he felt by now he should have this shit down. It had taken him a long time to learn to be a vampire without ripping someones throat out, now it was about learning to be upset apparently without transforming. Felicity had warned him that being unanchored made this harder but Robert had accepted that facet of this. If he was going to be learning everything he’d learn that part of this to. “If I say that being angry makes me feel better, does that count?” Robert asked, trying to reach for that calm. “Why are we waiting?” he demanded, “are we really supposed to sit around and hope that he’s changed?” Robert was usually willing to give people the benefit of the doubt. To a point. But Jeremiah, Connors, all of them were past the point of getting more chances. At some point it was just how screwed over do you want to be. “How do we outsmart blind familial loyalty?” he asked, “all of human history has been trying to do that and no luck so far.”
“Maybe he did, maybe he didn’t. Who the fuck really knows?” She knew that no one was going to do anything till they felt certain about everything; meaning that they had seen all the consequences and were alright with them. The only thing that they were able to agree on was that a shit storm was about to take place real soon and they were all going to hit, “If we were smart we would be having sex -- laughing -- going on dates and making the most that we can till everything hits the fan and we have no choice but to deal with shit,” she laughed knowing how that was going to be the last thing that they would do because deep down all of them were excellent at fucking things up themselves, “You know? Should be getting a hotel and just locking ourselves into the room till we just can’t hide and we can fuck at every surface or have a corny date -- like have a game where we have index cards and write questions we’ve been dying to ask each other and flip them -- you know? What teenagers probably do -- at least enjoy the good till the really bad fucks things up,” sighing, she tucked her hair behind her ear, “I can’t speak on it. I am guilty of that just like the next person. I thought my dad was a hero till recently, so -- let’s not even go down that road. -- I just don’t think you being mad is going to make things any different so you could be using that energy somewhere else.”
