Austro Hungarian river monitor SMS Koros, she survived the first World War patrolling the Danube river from Belgrade to the mouth of the Black Sea. Top speed 10 knots - 12 mph. Displacement 448 tons. Armor belt 2 inchs. Main armament two 4.7 inch - 120 mm naval guns mounted in two single turrets fore and aft. Complement 77 sailors.
On June 26, 1950, the day after the North Korean attack, F-82G Twin Mustangs of the 68th FS took off from the Itazuke base in Japan to protect the evacuation of civilians from Seoul and Incheon. They covered Norwegian evacuation ships as well as convoys on the Seoul–Incheon road. The first USAF operation in this war. #USAF #KoreaWar

USAF North American F-86 Sabre. This fighter aircraft is famous for battling the MiG-15 during the Korean War. It was the first production fighter capable of exceeding the speed of sound. The image shows an F-86F in flight.

Folding wings were a must-have for naval aviation aircraft by the end of WW2. The photo below clearly shows how many crew members are needed to handle the aircraft, in this case after landing. This is a 4t (takeoff ~6.5t) Fairey Firefly, a two-seat fighter from 1770 Squadron, from the air group of HMS Indefatigable, after strikes on Pangkalan Brandan, Sumatra.
