I read this a couple days ago and had to google auteur, and I don't think I've heard it used. I think it's meant to delineate creative control (auteur) and original idea (author.)

And in THAT case, then kinda? Inanimate and Impish were both commissions, so people brought me amazing ideas that I got the opportunity to develop and eventually write. I got very, very lucky that these peeps wanted develop it with me and didn't necessarily come with a fully vetted outline for me.

THAT. SAID.

I fucking LOVE writing in boundaries.

I love a challenge, and there's nothing more exciting to me than creating a story within the confines of what someone wants to see. It's so fucking fun. It's like a puzzle - I know what the picture is going to be, but I love putting it together.

I don't know if that's an answer to your question, and I think that if I'm being pretentious, that's fine with me. I love developing ideas. I love that people brought me ideas to develop! I love my life. All of this is beyond what I thought I'd do with writing.

(Also guess what I have two commissions coming up - one very similar to Inanimate.)
