Mercy doesn’t seem to be something that is common these days...assuming it even exists at all now. But despite coming to terms with the phrase “Might makes right” and how brutal and bleak things have become, Yunneth feels that some acts of mercy can be found...if one is willing to dig through the muck that is their entropy ridden moral compass. Not that her moral compass is non-existent. Lets say she is in need of a humane activity in order to keep her from becoming one of the beasts she occasionally judges harshly. And digging up old corpses and bones and giving them a proper burial is such an act she will partake in.
How many died a horrid death? Both in the past and in present times? No one was around to take care of any corpses, to give them their final rites, or to even care that they perished. When the world ends and all who you know die, that is when you are truly dead. To be forgotten, to be eaten by the insects and beasts...it is the way of life but such a concept left a dagger in her heart.
3 shovels, 2 mining picks, some logs and planks to be used as leverage as to move concrete and debris. Well...this place is as good as any to make a graveyard. And from the looks of things, she has already started. A pile of miscellaneous bones, some corpses she had found recently that she laid down in the most reverent way she could...they too would be buried once she was done picking the large piles of debris from long dead corpses and bones.
The sound of a hammer and breaking concrete could be heard. Labored grunts could be heard with the sounds of breaking debris and the sound of the hammer. And when not breaking stone, she would pick up what she could, tossing it away.
Was there a point? Perhaps not. No. But it’s always bothered Yunneth. The death, the thought of the people who the bones once were or those who survived long enough to receive a glorious or brutal end in the fight against those not of her blood. The dead deserve mercy too. Woe be to any who disturb this act of kindness.
♛ || There was a number of things he’d seen, probably far too many to actually keep active track of in truth. Whether it was the death of another. Or even the death of someone who was to be his enemy. Suffering existed everywhere. That... and unavoidable death. He had lost too many people. Either to illness due to lack of medical supplies, or to the creatures that now wandered the land. He knew what loss felt like... and not only that, he knew that many of those who died were never properly taken care of afterwards. So when he saw what the other was doing he just had to help her.
♛ || Carefully, he makes sure to keep the large piece of debris lifted. He didn’t want to drop it on her, surely that would become a disaster. Thankfully he was strong, being forced to train as a solider from the moment he was born seemed to being paying off more and more with each new passing day. Many believed that he should be thankful. But he just couldn’t find it in his heart to forgive his father for what he had done. Thus why he had abandoned his birthright, took his younger sister, and fled into the night without ever looking back on their past lives. The sounds of the other shifting through the concrete manages to bring him out of his thoughts and back to reality. Though he generally wasn’t a nosy person he did wonder what she was doing all alone. Perhaps she needed somewhere to stay for the time being or maybe she was just going out of her way to take care of those that were never properly cared for?
♛ || “I’m simply lending my aid. The dead often are not considered a priority for the living anymore, but I believe the dead are just as equally important.”

♛ || Even since the outbreak of the virus caused by human sin... it felt as if the world had reached it’s end. Creatures of unknown horrors began to roam the now desolate lands of what once used to be the streets and roads of civilization, followed by the sudden arrival of creatures known simply as vampires... of whom soon came to claim different parts of the world as their own personal domains. It had seemed that humanity had finally reached it’s end as well. Yet somehow there were humans that managed to survive the outbreak long enough to form a small civilization of their own to survive. They even managed to develop research on how to destroy the vampires and took up arms in attempt to restore the world as it had once been.
♛ || Though there was another organization. One that did not strive to fight. Instead this organization strived merely for survival, to live peacefully in this new world, and protect those that had nothing to live for. An organization that would lift them back onto their feet, and give them something new to live for. It was a organization filled with people of all ages... not matter their race so happened to be, and it was all run by one man.
♛ || And as usual, Heihachirō Hīragi, was carefully making his rounds to survey the area around the Shinjuku Ghetto. After all... one could never be too sure about what was lurking nearby. Though there’s a noise in the distance, something that’s rather loud. It causes him to stop jogging suddenly, head slowly turning in the direction it was coming from and he listened for a few moments... a loud clanking sound that made it seem as if someone were trying to build something much like how construction workers used to.
♛ || The male begins to head in the direction of which might be trouble. Eventually coming to a halt just a few meters away from what seemed to be a woman moving the debris of a collapsed foundation. What she was doing wasn’t clear, but he knew one thing for certain, she probably needed some help.
♛ || So that’s what he did. He didn’t speak. No. Instead he places his gun into his bag. And soon, he’s right beside the mysterious woman and places his fingers underneath the slightly lifted piece of debris and makes sure to keep his hands steady as he begins to lift the rubble up slowly. Gaze glancing over at the other. Hopefully his assistance would give the other some type of relief.
@rhyra continued from here.
♛ || Heihachirō kept his gaze casted down towards his open palm, examining all of the small scars littered across the span of pale skin as he slowly curled his fingers to make the form of a fist. There were many things to think about, things to do as well, and even things that he could have said to the female that was sharing his company. Yet what came from his mouth, accidentally, was not something that he ever really shared with anyone but the demon within his Cursed Gear.
♛ || “I suppose that you’re right, Miss Crosseyra...” He speaks in a somewhat hushed tone, mauve irises close for a few moments, silently listening as she continued to speak until she was finished. “I apologize for saying such a thing. I’ve just had quite a bit on my mind as of late. You have my thanks for the positive words of reassurance.” Heihachirō opens his eyes once more, before, giving the crimson haired woman a gentle smile. “I believe there is truth to your words. People nowadays are afraid to love and lose. Though I believe one should still strive for love even if there is loss.”
♛ || Heihachirō placed his hands upon his lap, leaning his head back far enough to get a full view of the ceiling. “Of course, everyone perceives things differently than others. For example, someone born before the catastrophe would know how things used to be while those born after it would view this life as normal.”
♛ || Everything was up to the eye of the beholder, and whether one chose to view something as beautiful and breathtaking, or instead chose to view something with disgust and judgement towards what the world had now become, Heihachirō knew that there would always be more to see in this world that was simply hidden just a little farther out of sight. There would always be a sense of boundless discoveries in his mind.
♛ || “Which that I am? ...I must admit that I am not one who handles loss very well. Nor am I very skilled when it comes to self-care, especially when I have an entire society to look after first. Thankfully there are those who are willing to help me in times of need. Now there’s just one thing I wish to know. Do you also have someone to look after you?”

♛ || A topic of which required sensitivity, the very topic that many a couple thought about ENDLESSLY and even less were able to ACHIEVE in this time. Leading for many to forget about one of the many things that made LIFE cherish-able and brought not only joy of those who bared new life, but also brought joy to many others that surrounded the very existence of someone who would one day be a person of the upcoming FUTURE. A topic like this was rare, and it was a bit of a risk as well, but a blessing all the same.
♛ || A risky choice.
♛ || Yet somehow speaking to the younger woman about such a topic brought about a feeling of hope. Something that the male was low on... despite his constant talk about it.
♛ || “I want some myself, to be completely honest.” There was only the feeling of great WARMTH and GENUINE kindness in the sound of her voice of which seemed almost like nothing had changed, despite the world having changed. “Yes, I imagine that it would be rather hard. Though I still have the same desire to have children, with someone I love. Not because of my bloodline. But...” A hand slowly came up to take one of hers into his own. He gave a nod. “I believe you’d be a wonderful mother. You’re gentle with children.”
♛ || The crowd of people within the room was NERVE WRACKING for the Hīragi heir, despite the many times that he was met with large amounts of people, AWAITING his response to many of the things that they have greeted him for in order to progress in their political standing with the Hīragi household. That was all they were after, that was all that anyone was ever after when it came to speaking to the children of the Hīragi. Though despite all of the offers that he had been given by different clan members... The response was always the same thing.
♛ || A stern DECLINE would be the only thing that would come out from the mouth of the eldest Hīragi child, before taking the time to explain why he had come to the conclusion that he had, which often offended many families. There of course was reason for the way he REJECTED marriage offers, despite the arrangements that his father had promised to said families underneath their own.
♛ || Face feeling as if had suddenly caught FIRE, listening to the questions that he had been asked, causing fingers to lightly knead the Sangū‘s waist, trying to find an answer, a befitting answer. “I suppose that you can say that I’m looking. I also won’t deny my feelings for you. Though I know of my chances with you, they may be slim.” He hummed, quietly, even. “I understand that very clearly... but I don’t think that I’d mind.”

The SESITIVITY of her own nature almost always arose within children’s involvement. It was hard to understand, difficult to believe since the Irish lady never met or had a truly maternal figure inside her own life, nonetheless, she found herself ASTONISHINGLY maintaining a soft spot for kids within the boundaries of her own heart. Children were souls hardly infected with the terrors of the world; pure in early years; an age where everything seemed a little more magical, a little more possible. The simplicity of life CEASELESSLY reflected in their eyes.
It was only natural she’d let them do as they pleased.
❝ Oh, i know how to play with them. ❞ The youthful colonel avowed CHEERFULLY, giggles softening the tones of female, tender voice with the slightest of efforts. ❝ I just don’t know how to refuse when it comes to children. I think that’s a bad habit of mine; i’m weak. ❞ Crosseyra wasn’t bothered, or intimidated neither DISPLEASED about the infants’ behavior. The forgotten princess of the Alrys family was just… invested on them. ❝ Do they spend their time playing all day❓ Or they have their own duties❓ ❞
@grotesque-contamination | ❥ Heihachirō
♛ || The SIGHT the younger female had given him was something he missed seeing. In fact it was something he used to see a long time ago, but no longer saw due to the way that the world had ended so abruptly, yet, he was here witnessing something HEARTWARMING that was more than enough to bring a warm smile to his face. Happiness was a thing that he tried to maintain within the walls of his rebellion; whether by bringing gifts, or by spending as much time as possible with them, until they’ve tired themselves out. Though this time they had a new COMPANION to interact with.
♛ || Meeting new people was a rare thing that happened.
♛ || “Ah, that’s my mistake then.” The taller man crouched down HAPPILY, enjoying the clear sound of gleeful behavior from Crosseyra, hands firmly placed on his knees. “Well I can certainly say that we’re similar in that sense. I can’t tell a child no, I’m not wired that way.” Heihachirō was soft, so much so to the point of being taken ADVANTAGE of by many. A feature that many of the rebellion found... rather charming. “Every child has their own duties. Such as cleaning or helping my sister to cook.”
"Very bold of you to assume i know what i'm doing." (@cross)
♛ || LIGHT AMETHYST IRISES STARED, listening to childish laughter erupting from children of different ages. A girl, no more than fourteen, holding one end of a jump rope in her hand; meanwhile a boy, by the age of twelve, held the other end in his own. Shorter crimson haired woman tangled in said rope, almost as if the children had decided to play an unfair game with her. Soft smile slowly spreading across the forgotten heir’s face, making his way towards the small group; large hands doing their best to free his guest.
♛ || “Excuse me for assuming such a thing,” words coming out with a laugh, “but I figured that perhaps you would know how to play with them.” SOMETHING HE SHOULD HAVE NOT ASSUMED, the older male finally managed to get her free, only for small feet to run in the opposite direction as if to escape a scolding. “I apologize for their behavior.”

♛ || Etiquette being something he showed often, especially to A YOUNG LADY that he had the pleasure of meeting not matter the circumstances WHETHER FATED OR NOT by the world around them. It was the right thing to do, honestly, because it would provide some ASSISTANCE to someone. He was determined to help all of those in need, just like many of the others that lived within his rebellion. The older male had taken the exact same steps that he had in the past during his childhood years.
♛ || “Mm, it was really my pleasure.” He gave Crosseyra a humble bow in RESPECT as well, making sure to show her the exact same courtesy that she had given to him. Right arm crossing just slightly over his chest, Heihachirō gave Crosseyra a smile, hand at his chest. “Do be sure to be careful, m’lady. I wish you the safest travel possible.”
♛ || Straightening his posture out until standing straight, the forgotten Hīragi heir gestured towards an exit, just to help a bit. “As am I truthfully. Let’s meet under different circumstances though.”
♛ || Thus he made sure to watch her leave.
♛ || There were things that not many would understand, naturally, such PAIN lingering within the older male’s heart that it was almost troubling. Trauma that left no physical scars but mental ones, emotional from the SIGHT of his mother laying within a cell in disarray at a young age. The Hīragi had things he would hide, just as any would, thus why he appreciated the other’s understanding. A topic now dropped, rebellion leader clenching his right hand against the side of his leg.
♛ || (There was no sure way to be certain of those that he would meet outside so it was best to always play it safe.)
♛ || “No worries.” A soft smile surfaced, replacing the once serious and sullen look that had taken over normally gentle features, HAND CLENCHING to finally rest within the rather large pockets on his pants. Light amethyst irises staring, looking down at such DELICATE and TINY hands. Something that did not compare to the size of his own hands, Heihachirō gave a small nod of the head and too hold of Crosseyra’s hand ever so careful not to crush hers in his own. “It’s a pleasure to meet someone an kind as yourself.” Speaking with a charming tone. “I hope that the two of us will continue to get alone in the future, m’lady.”
{ If anyone would ever be able to manage to get Heihachirō to trust them and bring them to his rebellion headquarters, they would see nothing but children and elders, along with a few teens and adults. They would also see that everyone views each other like family, children and teens often referring to Heihachirō as “Uncle” (calling Annaisha “Mother”), while adults and elders refer to Heihachirō as “Brother” (and Annaisha is “Sister”). Everyone is treated as an equal and supports each other no matter their differences. There are even some vampires (who were originally half-lings before drinking blood that originated with a few children from different groups in the rebellion) that live within the headquarters who often work as spies within the vampire colony.
They would also be able to meet an infant by the name “Sukui“ (meaning salvation) that Heihachirō cares for (thanks to a group of vampires that killed his mother before Heihachirō was able to get there in time). Aside from said infant, Heihachirō also helps his younger sister take care of other children within the rebellion, whether it’s by feeding them or teaching them life lessons.
Heihachirō is also the rebellion’s main provider when it comes to bringing in resources such as food and water, spare clothing, books (for learning or entertainment), toys (usually broken dolls and cars that he fixes himself), and supplies for infants/toddlers. If Heihachirō isn’t out scavenging for supplies, he can often be found giving out orders to many of the adult residents (because they have jobs) so that they can help the rebellion prosper. }
{ Real quick, to the people/anons flooding my ask box and IMs with shit that is meant to talk down on me; my ideas, Lyrica’s muses/ideas, development we made together, or just make our stuff seem unimportant/completely ignorable (dunno if that’s a word)... y’all can take that bullshit and shove it straight up your ass. I’ve been in this fandom from the very fucking start and I’m not about to have newbs/dickwads tell me what I CAN and CAN’T do. Lyrica and I will continue to do what we want/what makes us happy/allows us to have fun.
If anyone (mutuals and non-mutuals) has a problem with it, unfollow me now cause no one has had issues with me or anything I did before.
❛❛ Give the girl no choice ( and ) she will be forced to make one. ❞
✧ @sncwrcse && @mercifuldexth ✧
Also, can you tell me more about the infant that Heihachiro cares for? Is it a girl or a boy? How old is it?
{ Sukui’s full name is unknown due to the fact that Heihachirō was never able to save his mother from a swarm of vampires, but Heihachirō decided to give him the last name of his old clan before his mother had become a Hīragi in a sense, so his name is now Sukui Nonarashi (the only reason he knows his first name is because he heard the mother scream his name). The name ‘Sukui’ means ‘salvation’.
Also, as you can probably tell from above, Sukui is a boy and he’s only twelve months old (originally he was merely six months old when Heihachirō first found him but he has been within the rebellion for six months now). Sukui has olive green hair and dark purple eyes, his complexion is rather peachy/pinkish despite being malnourished in the very beginning of his life (though he is very healthy thanks to Heihachirō‘s determination to keep the infant alive). }
