Yes! He was originally a medical intern aboard a mobile deep space mining station.

He was cleared to go on an exploratory mission alongside a small ragtag crew of others, only for the vessel the crew was on to be used to remotely test a bioweapon and simulate a small scale outbreak in a relatively controlled environment.

One by one, the crew fell to an infection similar to the Necromorphs from Dead Space, altering their bodies into strange new forms.

Jumper was one of the last mechs alive on the vessel, and each cycle he wrote entries on how he still believed surely someone would come, only no one ever did. He eventually succumbed, and even in his post-corruption form, he retains a level of sentience. He experiences a "locked in" syndrome.

He is aware of what he has become and is perpetually afraid and disgusted, aware he has no control over himself anymore.

No one ever came, and the incident was written off as an isolated incident with rogue space debris ending in the death of the crew.

More lore will be dropped when I post the other characters!
