I got an IUD on Monday (begged my fertility doctor to do it since no gyno would because of COVID)... got my first post partum period on Wednesday.

Today I noticed some weird stuff going on... ovulation symptoms. I thought it was funny because they are symptoms I never had when we were TTC. Not even on letrozole.

For kicks, I took an ovulation test.

Blazing. Positive.

Breast feeding certainly is not birth control 😆 my fertility doctor always warned me to not rely on my infertility as birth control once I gave birth... guess he wasn’t wrong.

Planning for a Thursday baby (plz don’t take that long)

I’m uncomfortable tonight for the first time this whole pregnancy. My stomach is a rock. My lower back/hips ache. I’m crampy.

38 weeks tomorrow!

What a time to be alive.

My blood pressure was a bit high at my OB appointment today (142/89) and I had a bit of protein in my urine. Probably due to the 7 layers of hell (aka COVID screening) I went through between the parking lot and my OB’s office. They decided to keep me for monitoring and further testing (blood, urine, NST, BP repeats).

3 hours later... baby boy is fine. My blood pressure is back to a normal range.

Honesty time!

I am super grateful for this babe. Super excited to meet him. We waited a while for him, and now he’s almost here.

I’m also a bit sad that some of the joy of being new parents is going to be taken from us.

We aren’t allowed hospital visitors (fine).

We can’t see anyone in the days leading up to him arriving (okay).

We have now been told to have no visitors at home. Not even our parents.

This means they won’t get to meet him until he’s 2-6 weeks old. They won’t get to hold the fresh baby, to celebrate and support us. No one will be there to bring us food. No one will be there to hold him for a minute so we can catch our breath.

I feel crazy for considering ignoring this recommendation. Obviously I won’t want to put him in harms way, but it’s not fair. It isn’t fair that we would have given birth months if not years before this virus hit, if only my body did it’s job right.

Am I insane for considering allowing grandparents? If they’ve socially isolated (everyone in the house) for 2 weeks? Haven’t been sick? Wash their hands and don’t kiss him? Only visit once, for less than 30 minutes?

It’s a hard choice, guys. We have 11 cases in my city (population 400K). We aren’t in dire circumstances by any stretch.

It’s just so unfair. Not as unfair as not having a baby to celebrate, but unfair nonetheless.

They’ve suspended visitors at our hospital and all the grandmothers are RAGING.

Someone is 33 weeks and growing right on track! 73rd percentile, despite everyone constantly telling me he’s going to be big 🙄

OBs are so frustrating.

I went back today and the woman I saw was way nicer than the first.

1) she said I don’t look like my BMI is high enough to be there.

2) she said there is no reason to induce me at 37 weeks, they’d do 39 more likely.

3) my BP looks great

4) my one sugar reading was a bit high, not enough to say I have GD but she wants me to see a dietician once. Fine by me.

5) baby looks good, I’m still measuring on track.

6) she sees no reason I can’t have a mostly normal delivery.

I’ll have growth scans set up for 32 and 36 weeks. I haven’t seen him in 9 weeks so I am excited for that!

Why do I ask anyone for help? I should truly just do everything myself.

Pregnancy is a great diet.

I’m down 11lbs since Dec 9, 15lbs overall.

I’m going to be a size 2 after I give birth. Also, I don’t have GD.
