Day Eight…

Day Seven...
Our model shekere hanging out at the construction zone garden!! The first trellis is almost done. See the logo for how we’re constructing the trellis walls, modeled after textile designs from Nigeria. The gourds are anxious to climb the trellis walls .....

We are growing gourds in the Missouri Gourden to make shekeres!

We got a donation from the Kansas City Zoo of ZooManoo! We shoveled it into a sack and then added it to our soil. We are ready to transplant!!!

Day Five in Estudio Mauriaauora...
Moved clay soil from where the support posts had been dug out to where our gourds are going to be planted. We also added topsoil then mixed the soils together for our gourds to grow happy!!

There was a storm over the weekend and we found a fallen tree, which we cut branches from to make trellises for the gourds to climb up.

We started turning the earth at the Missouri Gourden..

We sewed a hat from Nigerian hand dyed fabric!

Day One in Estudio Mauriaauora...
I planted around 100 gourd seeds that had been soaked overnight. Hopefully they sprout to plant at the Missouri Gourden.
I also used a bandsaw and drill to help with small things needed to prepare for the garden.
