I saw a Chiropractor.
Alright. Well, if you had seen my Facebook posts, you might have seen I have been to see a doctor about certain issues Iāve had lately.
Now, I had a few issues with my back. My mattress is complete trash, and itās a pain. But what am I gonna do about it? I donāt have enough money to get a new one, let alone a sandwich when Iām hungry.
Anyways, my back was always super stiff when I would wake up, and eventually that had turned into pain. Iāve dealt with that for about a year or two. Also, Iāve had a shoulder unit from when I was younger. I used to wrestle, and landed in a way where my shoulder had screwed itself up bad. Itās always caused this burning thing with any kind of work, but lately, my entire arms had started this numbing shit. So all of these problems combined, and I gave in. I finally saw a doctor about it.
I went to a local practice for Chiropractic care. Him and I had started talking about my issues, and we both didnāt seem terribly concerned. He did a thermal scan of my back, and we found out that my back has some pretty rough stuff going on with it. He also did some physical test with my shoulder, and we found some nerve is being pinched. But those werenāt what totally had me freaked out.
He had me do a test, super simple: touch my finger to the tip of my nose, but with my eyes closed. I went to try it, and I almost ended up poking out my eye. My left side was fine. The other test, was having me lock eyes with him, and he held up a pen in my peripheral sight, and wanted me to touch the pen. And again, I had failed that one sort of. I missed ¾ on that one.
Now the last test I can really remember him doing was super simple. He just wanted me to March in place. The catch? Eyes closed. I had to March 50 steps. Keep in mind. I was supposed to be in the same spot when I opened my eyesā¦I was across the room. I almost trampled my belongings that were on the floor.
Needles to say, I really needed to get some shit in check. So, I now am seeing this doctor, for at least a month at a time. I just got my first adjustments this week, and I feel pretty good about it. I feel like I can see sharper, and it doesnāt hurt to get out of bed!
I forgot to mention, the doctor took some X-rays. We had gone over them, and my spine wasnāt as bad as we thought. But my neck is the major concern. See, your neck is supposed to have a curve like a letter ācā almost. Mine is actually going backwards, and he had pointed out that one of the vertebrae was weird. He says it looks like it had been broken before. Itās nothing major, which is a good sign. The good news is that he didnāt seem overly concerned about that bit of information, and he said that itās all fixable.
However, there is a downside to this whole thing. Itās 108$ a month. Now, that beats a 25$ co-pay for every visit, especially since he wants me to go three times a week. I just kinda hope that this is all gonna be fixed in a month. I know that my health is important, and I shouldnāt put a price on it. But, itās just a bit to handle at my current wages. I canāt complain though, because 108$ a month to see a specialist is not terrible at all. Iām just grateful that Iām able to get better, and not at a terrible price.
I really do have to recommend going to a Chiropractor for anyone and everyone. I learned so much from mine, and almost all of my problems involve what he had taught me about. No one really is taught about their central nervous system, and how much an unaligned spine can affect stuff. Iāve read stories about people have afflictions cured. Like allergies, asthma, and even some Infertility.
America uses 68% of all medicine made. Iāve heard of people being on over 10 different medicines at a time. And it could all actually be fixed by something a little more simple than taking, and paying for prescription drugs. So seriously guys, go see a Chiropractor. I think this experience has changed my fucking perspective on medicine, medical practice, and our overall healthcare in America.
Alright, guys. I think this is gonna do it for me this week. If youāre reading this and like it, please comment somewhere about it, like on my Facebook page! Just search Growing Into Life! Iāve been debating on writing more and getting more out there for this whole blog series. But I donāt think Iām gonna write 2 blogs a week, unless you guys ask for it.
Okay. Iām rambling.
Be back in a while.
