every year we're offended at how highly rhapsody in blue rates (#7 this time) but it's okay because we're through that and now at holst's the planets at #3 ! and i think it'll be emperor concerto and ode to joy so we'll have a bit of beethoven and feel much better
we had some beethoven and we WOULD feel much better but they bloody CUT OFF THE THIRD MOVEMENT of emperor just as the second ended and we had the build up to the best bit and NO FOLLOW THROUGH. ode to joy continues to slap, and continues to win the top 100 for slapping
my top 10* in not exact order
emperor concerto, beethoven
ode to joy, beethoven
four seasons, vivaldi
rite of spring, stravinsky
organ symphony, saint-saens
the planets, holst
bolero, ravel
peer gynt, grieg
messa di requiem, verdi
night on the bare mountain, mussorgsky
*didn't vote can't complain

Oh, so when YOU grab a Danish for a quick snack, it's a guilt-free, tasty little treat. But when I, Grendel,
me every year: how did the soundtrack to how to train your dragon make it in here
also me every year: wow the soundtrack to how to train your dragon goes fucking hard
they've put the rite of spring criminally low at #73 ! banger
chariots of fire at #75, i stg people vote this fucking piece in every year as a joke
listening to the classical radio's top 100 which has a "different theme" each year but features all the same works anyway because the budget for their repertoire has obviously been cut so badly for the past few years. the fun is guessing how close to the top each piece will feature. this year is even more ridiculously same-y because the theme is "greatest of all time"
we went to see the warrnambalds, the local riff on the national portrait prize. my packer's prize vote went for a $50 mixed media by a child honouring her fire-fighter dad (you can see it in the corner beside mum - orange and black with a figure in yellow) that had nice layering. there was a photographic portrait of my friend for whom i have been spinning a lot, who made the beautiful fisherman's jumper for a young niece out of some dk/worsted merino she gave me to spin - i am giving her some more tomorrow of a lovely lustrous longwool
weird little bubbles in the muddy carpark puddles at the breakwater
filled the basket at the very reliable inkcap spot again
dogs at the breakwater (breakwater not pictured), please note the little rainbow finishing at norman
puppies !!
i was going to take a pov shot of the dogs standing over me but i had to drop my phone to protect my face. they are full of love and also they're extremely scratchy motherfuckers. wilfred is by my feet (on top of blanket) and norman is my little spoon (under blanket)
i hear this huge galloping down the corridor and have one second to brace myself before the dogs jump on the bed and attack me ferociously with kisses, hello boys i love you
good licence plate on the weekend
