My name is Oli, they/it, a studying zoologist, and I have way too many animals for my own good. This is my sideblog showing them! My main account is @affectionatecorpse if you wanna see more nerdy stuff. I will be posting several animals, but the main ones are:
Llama
Llama isn't her legal name, it's Cocoa. But she doesn't know that. Llama is my therapy dog, and my partner in crime. She's a bit of a freak of nature. She's weird. So so weird. She's literally insane. Her favourite food is spearmint polos and god I wish I was kidding. She's such a creature but she's good at her job so yknow. Llama goes everywhere with me and is trained to help with a lot of the other animals, like keeping the other dogs in line, sticking by one of the tortoises while I find the other, separating the ferrets if they're fighting, etc. She's a good girl.
Melody
Melody is my concerningly stupid cat. That orange part speaks to her like Venom. She's 12 years old and dumb as a pile of bricks. When she was 4, she ran through a closing weighted door right as it was about to shut fully, which is why she's missing half her tail. She knocked out her front teeth by literally jumping into a brick wall because she forgot to aim up, not forward. She's an indoor girl nowadays and just spends her days sleeping, eating my food and causing problems on purpose.
Kelloggs
There's only one animal in this house that challenges Melody in terms of stupidity, and that's Kelloggs. He heard orange cats are dumb and applied it to snakes. Kell has... zero survival skills. He does not know how to hold on to anything and will gladly slither right off my arm if I'm not careful. He doesn't register predators and will consistently try to sit on the cats and dogs if not stopped. He has awful striking aim. He hasn't got much going on in that head. But he's a snugglebug, so that's good enough for me. Also no, he's not hissing in the picture. He's yawning. I just thought it looked cute.
Delilah
Delilah is my second corn snake, not related to Kelloggs. I actually got Kelloggs as a baby to help conquer my fear of snakes. 2 years later, he'd helped me enough for me to take in Delilah, and I'm so glad I did because oh my god this little goth noodle is the CUDDLIEST damn snake I've ever met in my LIFE. She is absolutely obsessed with affection and will rub up against you til you have friction burn if she likes you enough. She is also extremely obsessed with baths and water, so we're convinced she's actually an eel in disguise.
Wynn
Wynn (pronounced like win) is my first and currently only bearded dragon. She's a rescue from a breeding farm, given up by her owners for being born with missing back toes, something they didn't want any future offspring to have. But she's learned how to survive with her disability and can climb almost too well, so yknow! She's also a complete princess and does not take kindly to being told no to something. She will take her revenge on anyone who denies her.
Murphy
Murphy, more commonly referred to as just Ducky, is a monster. He's evil. Don't let him fool you. He will gaslight you whenever possible. Ignore his big round eyes telling you he hasn't had treats all day, he's LYING. He is also astoundingly stupid, but that comes with ducklings in general, so it's not fair to pin it on him. I will though. Because I'm also evil, and he is stupid.
Axel, Oakley, and Zombie
The chaos trio. And by that, I mean the chaos duo and poor Zombie who's being dragged along for the ride. All three ferrets are rescues. Axel and Oakley are brothers from the same home, and partners in crime. Zombie, however, had escaped a farm that used him for rabbit hunting and wound up being caught in a humane trap god knows how long later, and after a month of no one claiming him, I kept him. He really acts like a tired dad to the twins, especially when they start bickering with each other or him.
Pablo
Pablo is a rescued 6ft boa constrictor, from a neglectful home that kept him in unsavoury conditions. He turned up in a fully clear box with cat shit in it, shedding, coated in scale rot and scars, and terrified out of his mind, to the point where he was striking and biting anything that moved, while hissing like a damn train. Nowadays? He's still terrifying, but he's become much more affectionate. He's extremely jumpy and bitey sometimes, but he's learned to love a relaxing cuddle, and is greatly fascinated by his neighbour, Wynn. It was kind of dumb to take in a snake like him with a phobia of snakes, but no one else at the rescue centre where I work was going to. It took talk of them putting him down to finally bite the bullet and take him. It's a work in progress.
There are other animals, but these are the main ones. The rest are more either my mother's or not very photogenic, like the fish. But anyway, hope you find them as cute as I do!
