-Carl Tanzler & Elena Hoyos. Carl was a radiologist who met Elena in 1930 before she was diagnosed with tuberculosis. He became infatuated with the pretty young Cuban & attempted to cure her. Alas, she died a year later. Proving that love has no bounds, Carl stole her corpse after her burial & brought her to his home. He attached the rotting body together with wire, silk, wax & plaster and kept her in his bed… for 7 years.
