Aldo two weeks before his 194.

5 Reasons McGregor K.O.’s Aldo
1. Range
McGregor has a three inch reach advantage over Aldo and as we have seen in his previous fights he keeps his opponent at range with his kicks. His unorthodox striking style will allow him to keep Aldo at distance and pick him off with shots as he comes forward. We saw McGregor do this to great effect against Mendes on the feet and against Brandao on the UFC: Dublin card in 2014. McGregor can produce power strikes going backwards which will hurt Aldo
.2. Pace
Due to his superior movement, McGregor will be able to dictate the pace of this fight and force Aldo to fight on the back foot. This will prevent Aldo from being able to establish his striking game and frustrate the champion. We saw Mendes do this to great effect in the opening round of the pair’s second contest and he managed to drop the champ with a left hook.
3. Freshness
McGregor will come into the contest as the fresher fighter. In McGregor’s six fights inside the UFC octagon he has gone less than ten rounds, absorbing very little damage and only once going to a decision. On the other hand Aldo has gone almost thirty rounds in his seven UFC appearances, the most recent of which was a 5-round war with Chad Mendes in October 2014. Almost 14 months later, Aldo may suffer from a bit of ring rust and he will have no time to settle against the Notorious.
4. Hunger
Comments coming out of the Aldo camp lately do not fill us with confidence that he still has the appetite for battle. He recently stated that once he is financially secure he will leave the sport and that if he could earn a living without getting punched in the face, then he would pursue another path. Win or lose, this could be the last time we see Aldo in the Octagon. McGregor, on the other hand, is coming into this fight with a point to prove. He still has doubters and he is still yet to become the undisputed featherweight champion. This makes him a dangerous proposition.
5. Southpaw
McGregor’s southpaw stance causes all sorts of problems for Aldo. First of all it nullifies his ability to use his leg kicks to good effect as the lead leg won’t be there for him to hit. Again, the second Aldo Vs Mendes fight was a great example of this. Mendes fought a large part of the fight in southpaw stance and it turned into a fist fight. Although, Aldo has explosive power he will leave himself open to McGregor’s straight left and when that connects it will be goodnight for the soon-to-be former champion.
