Ok so, I was like bored, and I just decided to try making sprites but the design is actually Yume Nikki inspired….and just practicing my skills! : DD Whom else did I not join in there? :D (Well, you might guess for the last one….(Ow~)

Hello guys, have you missed us? It's been a long time since our last update!

Ahh! We hope you liked the art marathon! But... well, this will be the last run. At least for a while.

Last year was terrible, and this year was not better. Our progress has been stagnant for a few months. We cannot work on Tobira even though we want to. The game has some serious issues such as the plot. And because this game is our baby, we want to make it as best as we can!

We were young when we began this project, and found that working hard wasn't sufficient/good enough. We didn't have enough experience for a game nor the ability that we needed. We ended up frustrated and angry with each other, and became too tired to keep trying.

This is our hiatus announcement.

Someday we will return. But that probably won't be any time soon. Tobira is still in our hearts but we cannot work on it anymore. Some of us have other projects to work on, and some of us have busy lives with problems we must address. However, we will return with more experience and will improve Tobira. We want to make it a great game someday.

What were some of the inspirations when you were creating/drawing the characters?

That’s a nice question! ( ๑‾̀◡‾́)σ»  

Most of Tobira characters are inspired in urban legends, I experienced some of the worst nights of my life while researching for this game hahaha... I’m not surprised if all our team it’s actually cursed.  The game is also influenced by a few vocaloid sagas! Shuuen no Shiori have a strong presence in some parts of the game.

 Mariko design resembles a picture from Miku that we found on pixiv (Same hair style, I think). She’s “cute as a doll” but since lolita/victorian fashion it’s quite popular between rpg horror MC’s, we wanted to do something different by giving her a gyaru look. 

Satoru it’s the “cool guy”, his looks are mainly inspired in k-fashion and hipster trends. He wears the same glasses as Dumbledore.

Sadly the game will be in a looong hiatus from today, all our team is currently dealing with a lot of things and we can't work on Tobira for a long time. But don't worry! We will be back (someday)
