BLOG 4

At the start of the startup, I was feeling nervous because as a shift student I don't know who my group mates would be but after knowing my group, I can really tell that I can count on them. Of course, one of the most important things about doing a startup is the teamwork in your group. In our team, we do things together. We all put our skills, ideas, and compassion on the table in order to build our startup. Doing startup, there's a surge of excitement, nervousness, and enthusiasm thinking of creating something new, solving a problem, and being able to participate in something. These feelings motivate us to create a unique idea (which is the Kiffy: Keep In track For the Future You application).

During my journey in our startup, we didn't really have encountered a lot of problems but if we had one, I think we might be able to solve it together. Like during our pitching, we finish our presentation on time even though we are late on the deadline. It is really reassuring to have trustworthy and responsible people around you, sharing your ideas and opinions. And it is really nice to feel that you are really included in the group.

To finally end this blog, I just want to thank our advisor in this course for bringing out the potential and capability within us. and to my group mates for this journey for helping me to become confident and for listening to my opinions.

Blog 3

I arrived late in the ucc that's why I only caught the second and last speaker to speak but still, there's lot of lesson that I learned from the two speaker. I have learned from the second speaker that it is not really easy to make a startup or business because like the speaker said that your idea is not only yours or you are not the only one to have that idea. There's a million of us in the world and many of us may think that kind of ideas like ours.  All we have to do is work incredibly hard, new innovations, and consistency. And also, I have learned that we should start a business with a cause, that would be able to help our environment be preserved and a community to flourish. As for the third speaker I have learned that failure is a part of the process. Everyone of us failed in life not because we are losers but because it redirected us onto something more than we're expecting. I think without experiencing failure in life means we didn't learn something in life. Listening to this speaker inspires me to become an entrepreneur someday.

These words really remain in my mind after the lecture, "Failure is not the opposite of success but failure is the stepping stone to success" A powerful quote to end a good lecture.

Blog 2

In my previous blog, I have mentioned that we were going to make an application where mostly students can benefit. An application that can help someone to manage their time. In this blog, The team interview randomly in our school. We interview a different year and course to know their preference, thoughts,and opinions. Here, I'm going to address the things we have gathered in our interview; if someone would agree or use our application if we are going to produce it.

We question our interviewees that if we are going to make this time management application, would you use it or not?

Based on the data (in our interview) gathered, Most of our interviewee's said yes. They are interested to use it since they themselves can't manage their own time. An interviewee from Education, 1st year, said that she's interested to explore our application since it's interesting to use it and also the features are encouraging. Also from 1st year CBM student, said that the application is interesting and really useful because it's not only constructing you to complete the tasks or your works but also freeze the applications that can interrupt you from studying and make you really focus. I also interviewed my roommate, a first year student from Education, she said she's interested to subscribe in our premium since she's curious of what are the other contents that we can offer for them but then she said that the price is kind of expensive and not a student budget. From the Nutritious Dietitian, 1st year student, also said that the application is useful and she will use it once it's already created. The rest of the interviewee's agree on the useful of the application and they also complain about the price in premium is kind of costly.

The team's decision for the price of our premium is 89 pesos and everyone we interview, think that the price in our premium are kind of expensive. So, the team decided that we should lower our price into 50 pesos. Since we lower the price of our premium, we need to raise our target students. From 1,300 target students. We need to make it 1,500 students. And instead of one month, we decided to make it a two months plus until we regain our profit. Here's the equation, 50 x 1,500 = 75,000. Then 75,000 x 2 = 150,000. We will recover the 111,000 expenses within that month.

We are the future of this nation, our creative ideas can bring a better tomorrow.

Our instructor gave us an activity where we needed to interview at least 8 people in a week. We need to ask them about their problems in life, or maybe in a community, school, environment, or in our society that they can observe or experience. So that we can think of an idea on how to solve it.

The first person I interview is my roommate in our dormitory, I asked her if she has a problem that she noticed in our community, society, or even in our school that needs to find a solution. She said it is clogged in our drainage or sink in our laundry room. She said that it is not enjoyable to wash the clothes with a clogging sink. The second person I interviewed was our lady guard, she said that she's having a problem with the ladies for not following our dorm policy because she noticed that many of the students who are staying in our dorm are not signing in and out when they're going outside or inside the dorm. The rest that I interview answered that they are having a problem with the internet connection, transportation( the distance of the dorm), segregation of waste, and financial problems.

Our group gathered the data that we collected from our interviews and we noticed that we have everything in common like segregation of waste, transportation, and time management. Time management has the majority in those problems. The group decided to go on with the time management since it's the majority. That's why our group decided that if we offer an application to those students, who are having a problem managing their time will complete their tasks in a day through using this application. Our group decided to make an application for the students, as a reminder for them of what they will do on certain days or what tasks they need to complete on that day. Also, to focus, this application can disable some apps that can disturb them during study hours. Our team hypothesizes that if we offer this kind of application to the students maybe we can help them to manage their time.

I learned that there are so many problems in our society, if we ask from someone's perspective. With the help of teamwork, we can really think of a better solution. Maybe in the future, This solution we create can help us to create a better tomorrow.
