In honour of today being March 1st, I want to share a little bit of a project I’ve been working on.

There are only 3 good OBC bootlegs out there for Next to Normal, and each has its strengths and weaknesses. I’m trying to combine all three into one epic Next to Normal video. I’m still trying out what I want it to be like, how often I want to switch between videos, etc. But for now, here’s the rough cut of Just Another Day (because I’m starting at the beginning and this is pretty much the only thing I have~)

Written by Tom Kitt and Brian Yorkey using suggestions from fans via the Next to Normal Twitter account. Performed live at an event the song is a scene between Gabe and Doctor Madden. It was never incorporated into the production. 

 #i love how this song is the illness mocking the doctor for not being able to fix diana.   #i love how gabe is not just an illusion to diana but the physical representation of illness and loss.   #he tortures everyone in the show. everyone is harmed by him.   #mental illness does not only hurt those with the condition. it effects everyone connected to that person.   #that’s why next to normal is my favorite.   #it addresses something that so many people don’t understand in such a profound way.   #the reprise of the theme makes me happy as well.  

And that’s why I wish this song was in the show. I know it wasn’t even written until after the show was made but it would have fit so well and it makes it clear that he has an effect on everyone.
