Talking about difference and seeing similarities. Encouraging discussion. Hope you enjoy. Please share and comment.
Over the last few weeks, I have been releasing a video a day. Today is the third part of an interview with journalist and broadcaster, Rowan Hand.
Getting the question wrong. It started out quite innocently. We were sitting in the Golf Inn participating in a Pub Quizz.
Visitor from Brasil.
Going through my analytics I have notices I am getting quite a few visits from Brasil, so I would like to say thanks you for reading my blogs.
All the best

Writing a Treatment
When I was at college, our scriptwriting tutor stress how much we needed to write Ideas, Outline and Treatments before even thinking about writing a script. Even today I follow the same process.
However, many of my students in college tend to rush straight into writing the script. Many funding bodies also have problems with proposals which either don’t have a treatment or it is obvious the…

How a lens works?
This video is one from my new course “Anatomy of Digital Photography” which I hope to have ready for around 22nd April 2015. There are about six more video lectures to complete.
In this video we explore the anatomy of the lens. We start with a simple magnifying glass, examining how a convex, concave and compound lens work. From here…

Solar Eclipse
Watching the news over the last few days I was expecting to see nothing. Yet, yesterday blue sky and the day before. Tomorrow we are also expecting clear skies and frost. But today, no, just pure cloud. So when I got up and looked around and there was a heavy layer of thick cloud my expectation was that I would only get to see the eclipse by watching the BBC News. At about 9.20am it started to…

Releasing the ties of this world.
I have been fortunate in my life to witness two newborns take their first breath after their journey into this world. I have also witnessed one soul release their last breath as their journey continued into the here after. More recently I have experienced the loss of two dear people who in one form or another, have influenced my life is some way. Each had a special way of making you laugh.

Developing ideas for a short film.
In this week’s blog I going to look at how to develop ideas for a short film, exploring the processes I go through. Then, over the next few weeks you will see me develop the ideas into an outline and treatment, then a script.
As you may have noticed, I have not been very active over the past few weeks. This has been due to a family bereavement. At such times you see a lot of family come together…

Making headway with an animated sequence.
For several years now, I have been struggling with how to produce the animated sequence in ‘The Quest for Montgomery Aloysius’ I call ‘the Jealous Husband sequence’. The storyboard was produced in 2011 and I was able to quickly render out an animatic put to music, it seemed to work well.
The problem came when I tried to use 3D figures from Daz 3D, animating them in Carrara Studio. I seemed to…

Be an artist and not a software junky.
Be an artist and not a software junky.
By George Kingsnorth
A response to a friend:
Thanks for your e-mail. I understand the problem you are having as it affects everybody. I am currently producing on-line courses but this still takes time to produce and initially does not bring back a good return. I think the important thing is not the software but the skills in developing techniques in a range of software you are happy with. If you…

Free Speech and Responsibility
Free Speech and Responsibility
by George J. Kingsnorth
The idea of education is to find ways to relate your subject in a way that your students will understand. The best way to do this is to tell stories.
The lecturer’s job is to find out what the student brings to the classroom, in background knowledge, helping to educate the other…

Learn video editing techniques for drama - new Udemy course
<br />
This course is designed for those students who interested in learning how to use a non-linear editing (NLE) system who are keen to learn how to edit drama. Presents under the Christmas Tree.
There were a lot of presents under the Christmas tree this year. Which was quite surprising as Conor was in Canada and Tim was up in Belfast. We had not spend so much, either in currency or time, as the whole affair had raced in on top of us and it was suddenly Christmas.
Thankfully, I had been invited to a Christmas party the week before and managed to join eight of my colleagues from the…

Nikomat FTn: First roll of film shot.
First the camera arrived by courier, then the lens came a few days later but it was only on Saturday that the battery for the light meter arrived. I was eager to get started but knew that I also wanted to video the process for today’s YouTube submission. Not an easy task to do stills and try to record the event without an extra pair…
