3d progress for the month of July.
I did fanart for an Arcade and Genesis game called Marvel Land.
Sculpture 46: Lara Croft from Tomb Raider Merry Christmas, Jess.
I jumped on the Bowsette train when it was hot and combined Wiggler with the Super Crown. Also did some fanart for a theoretical Space Channel 5 sequel where Ulala became chief after Space Michael retired, so a new reporter came onto the scene, based on retrofuturistic 80s/90s.
Maneki Sphinx and Penginsan from Marvel Land. Colored pencil. Funnily enough, the Maneki Sphinx is exclusive to the Arcade version and Penginsan is exclusive to the Mega Drive version.
Princess Luxcie and Prince Paco from one of my favorite games, Marvel Land. Done in colored pencil.
I felt compelled to make a design based off of one of my favorite game companies growing up.
Some Dig Dug sketches and concepts I did. I wanted to convey the angular art on the arcade cabinet so that’s why there’s a lot of angles/sharp corners.
Sculpture 45: Hornet knight from Hollow Knight
Merry Christmas, CR
Bought the whole Japanese #OfficialDreamcastMagazine a couple years back on Yahoo Auctions Japan. Some of them came with demo discs which I already sent to a game ripper to have dumped, so those discs can at least be digitally preserved. I originally bought these to read articles on one of my favorite games, #SkiesofArcadia, but alas, it is time to prepare to depart with these. These are likely going to a scanner hobbyist or a video game museum. It was a weekly magazine, which is why there's roughly 120 issues in here, plus a pile of #NintendoDream magazines. #sega #dreamcast #nintendo #videogamehistory
Sculpture 43: Heat Man from Mega Man
His zippo cap moves!
For Ross.
The Sonic the Hedgehog comics were a giant part of my childhood. Some of my earliest influences, such as Patrick Spaziante or Art Mawhinney, stemmed from this comic book. It’s sad to see it go, but I’d say about 25 years is a good run.
Some of my favorite highlights: Mecha Madness, Patrick Spaziante, the Knuckles the Echidna mini series and most of his regular series, learned a lot of amazing puns, meeting some of its writers and artists, seeing some of my friends and favorite fan artists have a go at the comic (working on the Sonic comic book was once a childhood dream of mine), reading the comics out loud with my sisters while we spoke out loud the characters we were assigned (I probably did all the male voices and my sister probably did all the female voices) and enjoying the comics together, the Sonic and Knuckles rivalry, Bunnie Rabbot, making my own fan character (yes I made one, no I am not sharing it), and inspiring me to get into digital painting (back at the dawn of the internet and 56k days, Archie would release b/w images of their amazing covers, and I would take those and bring them into Photoshop to learn how to digitally paint)
Hi! I've never painted a figure in my life before, but that Klonoa is too good to pass up. When I buy it, what material should I select for the best paint job?
I would suggest the White Strong & Flexible or the White Strong and Flexible Polished. The one I posted is a painted White Strong & Flexible. The unpolished version is dustier and the stepping is a little more noticeable, but dust is easily cleaned with a rag and water, and there’s still stepping on both the polished and non polished version.
Hello! First off, thank you so much for all the time you put into the Skies of Arcadia fansite. Anyway, I was wondering if you could put the manga chapters up for grabs on mediafire or something? I didn't manage to save all of the pages before the gallery went down and I've kind of missed looking through them. Thank you for your time!
Sorry the gallery’s been down so long! I’ve uploaded the manga on Flickr at https://www.flickr.com/photos/148264019@N04/albums in the meantime. Enjoy!
Hi! I'm a random anon who's found you via the Skies of Arcadia reddit! I have a couple problems with some stuff over at EsoArcadia. First off, the Screensaver in the Download section has expired! I have no idea if this is something that can be fixed but if it can be, please do! Also, it seems your gallery has broken down as I can't access the manga :T
Hey. The screensaver is probably because it's only compatible with an older version of windows, so there is absolutely nothing I can do to allow it to function on a more recent OS. As for the gallery, it's been broken for a while. I need to find a new place to host Arcadia art but haven't gotten around to it, as I've lost interest in website development and maintenance.
3d Print 5: Wolnir’s goblet from Dark Souls 3
For Eric.
Finished modeling the original Light Numbers. I was thinking of going straight into the Mega Man 2 bosses, but I figure I should learn professional texturing and rigging before doing so. So I guess I gotta force myself to do rigging (I loathe rigging)...
