Elysium: Spring/Summer 2018

One creation from my Elysium collection. This dress was made from bamboo that was harvested from the Anhui province in China. The bamboo created the structure of the dress and has been painted gold.

Were you all able to watch the Met Gala last night? Rihanna wore my dress and the reactions have been explosive. I am getting contacted left and right from the press, it is something I have never experienced before. I could not have done this without my design team. The dress took more 50,000 hours and we couldn’t be happier with the results.

One of my main inspirations was the fenghuang, a  Chinese mythological bird. This bird represents virtue, mercy, and duty.

And that is a wrap. After a busy year, tonight I finally had the chance to showcase my work on the runway during China’s International Fashion Week. 

One of my pieces in my collection includes this dress. My inspiration for this was samsara. Which is a buddhist idea that explains the cycle of life.
