Opposition Protests are Legitimate

I could not help but notice that the protesters in Germany are from the opposition. And that I would not doubt that many secular people will take notice, and try to curb them. For some people believe that they represent collective will of the people, for they are in majority and can rightfully claim to the voice of the people, even if that means it fails on the legal criteria of such acts that derive legitimacy to be lawful objects under any law. In other words, much to the consternation and chagrin of those who find the opposition abhorrent in their idealogy, some amongst them do not get the right to use covert means to debilitate or diminish the capability of those who support the opposition through democratic means, and exercise their right to freedom of speech. It wont be wrong to say, such lofty democratic ideals have been invented by the Americans, and have tried to enforce it throughout the world, hammer and tongs. It could have been different until those protesting did not have the voice. But now, with the power vested from the votes received that represent numbers, it will be taking law in ones own hands by those who want to control the conscience of the people by all means, if they try to depress or suppress them even if they are not located in the same country or continent. Earlier, when they had no voice, whatever was done remained buried, which is no longer tenable as the voice now resonates and will be recorded in the books, forever. The same has been seen in the commonwealth, where those who were peacefully handed power by the British, used nasty technologies and means to push them off the cliff. After all, there are more than just few who take great pride in India being a colony of the British. On humanitarian grounds, the Brahmins just as the Supreme Court of India, dont shoot the messenger. Ireland loses to Italy! Euro 2012

Ireland Out of Euro2012; Italy Impressive!

Ireland knocked out of Euro2012 - why does it come as no surprise? I guess the problem is similar to what we see in England - the glorious past cant win you matches, it is performance, sheer performance on the field with the referees whistle that counts. Half-Baked Andy Murray loses to Canadian Raonic!

Canadians have a new king - Milos Raonic. As depressed as Andy Murray will be after this terrible loss to Raonic, I could not stop from giving credit where it is due. Raonic played good, but my childhood hero Lendl could not bring about a change in Murray game, or fortune. He is Scottish, a champion whiner, and just as half-baked as you see for other English players. It feels good when Murray loses to Nadal or Federer, but with a string of losses it is time to pity him now. And the zeal with which one shouts from the stands for others to win against Murray is lost, for it no longer counts that much. Murray is no longer an uptight with a swollen head from the glorious past, he is terribly depressed. I can understand, anyone would be with such defeats in early rounds. Humanitarian Crisis in Syria, Apocalypse in Iraq?

UNHCR Commissioner, an Indian, described what a crisis has developed in Syria with almost 500 children dead in bombing - Bad, Very Bad? Just a few years back, I remember in Boston how CNN was embedding its reporters into army to show what a wonderful spectacle the falling bombs made in Iraq, how it created a big crater, how big a fireball was formed, and even more the CNN was reporting as if it resembled a scene from the Hollywood flick 'Broken Arrow'. What was missed was how depleted uranium shells were tearing apart the limbs - arms and legs of thousands of adults - I guess the Indian Pillay forgot there were children there also. But in all this, I never got to see any photograph, movie, news of any children getting killed in Iraq - it was completely blacked out from print media, tv, radio, cnn, bbc, etc. Intermittently, there were reports of foreign journalists getting bashed up in their hotels, but apart from that there was nothing. How is that for first hand reporting from what was seen or not-seen in America simply because it was the work of American precision bombs? But, I dont expect Pillay to have seen that? Holy Cows! Trust me, in any case, the human rights situation in India is no better than Syria with rapes, murders, accidents, ransoms, acid attacks, tandoor kaands, boiling pots in khalistan, naxalites, ltte, tamils, nagas, ulfa, maoists galore. Or even Congressi Netas breathing down my ass !
