For the past 5 - 6 months, I've been thinking about how to word what I want to say related to certain social issues / politics. It's something I've never really done, other than repost certain news articles / posts on my story discussing on whatever issues are going on in the world right now. And after our election, I feel like I need to be upfront about where I stand in order to not associate with "unsavory individuals", so here we go...
If you are against Abortion, unfollow me.
If you are against the LGBTQ community, unfollow me.
If you believe that there is some sort of "transgender agenda" making your kids trans, unfollow me
If you are against any minority regardless of skin color, sexual orientation or gender, then unfollow me and NEVER speak to me again.
I feel like I shouldn't even have to post this since it's just basic human empathy, but apparently the people who I once went to highschool with have decided to show their true colors....
For context, I graduated from Bridge Hampton Highschool. And before 2018 (when I graduated), the school was very diverse because it was between working class and rich neighborhoods, and I felt like the school did it's best to teach their students to be accepting of everyone, regardless of who they are. But I've unfortunately noticed a pattern with some of the students that either graduated before or with me.
I've noticed the nepo baby students in my school apparently had their heads up their asses because the lesson of "be accepting" went through one ear and out the other as soon as they walked out the door of the district. I've seen so many of these rich assholes I've shared the same hallway with post the same bullshit propaganda about how trans people are "corrupting your kids" or how "trans people are sneaking into woman's sports". It makes me think, "how do people that believe this shit make it so far in life"? I'm genuinely surprised some of you made it this far in life without dropping dead from your own ignorance.
I'm super passionate about trans issues / rights because back in 2021 when the pandemic was somewhat at a decline, I felt super alone not having a queer friendly community that I reasonated with. Especially since I live in Suffolk County Long Island, which from my experience, isn't the most progressive believe it or not. So once I started actually working and making a good amount of money I started taking impromptu trips to Brooklyn in order to see some of the music artists I fell in love with during the pandemic. Overtime, I started to love how lively and fun queer night life life was in relation to the Club Kid / Hardcore / Punk community. And I noticed how big of a part the trans community / other gender non identifing folk played a part in keeping that community alive; whether it was designing flyers, running events, working the door / coat check to certain venues and clubs or just being one of the main artists / DJs performing that night.
So that being said, if you went to highschool with me and you think we're still buddies because I was the one gay kid in the school that was pretty chill, we're not friends, I don't want to be involved with any of you and frankly I wouldn't shead a single tear for anyone of you that demonized a community I'm very protective of. That also applies to any family members too that share the same bigoted beliefs.
I'm genuinely perplexed by the shit that some of y'all post publicly on your stories, because I can tell some of y'all have debilitating cocaine addictions, and your biggest problem is trans people!?!? I'd rather trust my (metaphorical) child with anyone in the LGBTQ+ community rather than y'all bigoted assholes.
Open up a fucking text book, read and learn. Because what you trump supporters are doing by erasing queer history is EXACTLY what the Nazis did during WWII. But I guess y'all would rather go to Governor's Ball at 16 rather than pay attention in history class.
