Shefani Timeline

This timeline project has been a collective effort of my own research combined with others knowledge ~ all based on factual information (i.e. interviews, shows, performances, articles, leaks, social media posts, etc). I do not base this information on speculation but I will use deductive reasoning. My focus of the timeline is to document the beginning of the relationship between Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton. There still is a lot of work to do on this timeline and I would welcome any help with fill in the blanks ~ especially those of you who have been fans of Blake for a long time. Gwen & Gavin: Gwen and Gavin started dating Mid 1995 and married in Sept 2002. Gwen struggled in her relationship with Gavin for many years. In 2004, news broke of Gavin hiding his daughter from Gwen for over 7 years (his daughter was 14). It took Gwen a long time to reconcile what happened but continued to work on her marriage. It is known that both sought couples counseling in 2012, Gwen looked miserable most of the time after that). Gwen has said in so many words if you listen to her music over the years you see the recurring theme with the problems with Gavin - meaning he cheated on her for many years throughout their marriage. 2014 (mid-late): Miranda & Blake were rumored to be living pretty much separate lives. Interview with Miranda said she had a separate property than Blake’s that was 10 miles away (in OK). They would spend the days apart (when they were together) then she would go to his house for dinner. (article - interview with Miranda)

2015 April 19: Miranda Lambert wins 5 ACM awards and never thanked Blake in each and every speech despite him cheering her on (plus tweeted for her). Blake was hosting the show with Luke Bryan. Endy and her husband were there in the audience (Endy Twitter). Next day Miranda posted an Instagram pic of her ACM awards haul, captioning it with a long message saying she forgot to thank her husband. **Blake did not tweet anything about Miranda after April 19.

2015 April 23: Miranda posted an Instagram pic of Blake’s guitar pic at the bottom of an empty glass of alcohol. This is last post she makes about Blake.

2015 Late April/Early May: Gwen stopped wearing wedding ring. Gwen splits for real with Gavin.

2015 Week/Weekend prior to April 27: Gwen is on the Voice set as an advisor for both Team Pharrell and Team Christina during S8.

Insider provided information: despite Blake and Miranda equally agreed to quick and speedy divorce, Miranda found out that Blake was hanging out and spending time with Gwen. Miranda flipped out and blasted Blake with phone calls - of which he answered none. Strange twist that Miranda sang Spiderwebs not only because it is Gwen’s song but because of the lyrics - she obviously flipped roles in the song.

2015 Before Blinds (I suspect on or right after June 10): Coaches record coaches song. Gwen & Blake record each other’s famous break up songs. The Voice photoshoot, trivia game and virtual reality commercial/ad was before Blinds started. **This very well could have been the day Gwen referred to (in interviews) as when Blake approached Voice set to tell everyone he is getting a divorce and to not refer to Miranda as his wife. They were sitting in the red chairs for the virtual reality commercial shooting. (Gwen never said it was during the Blinds)

2015 June 18: Blake’s birthday

2015 Aug 24-25: Voice Season 9 Knockouts tapes

2015 Aug 26: Voice Season 9 Press Day. First time Blake and Gwen are seen getting cozy in public on Lobster themed set. The Voice Virtual reality Ad is released.

2015 Aug 27: Blake seen at Gwen Sebastian concert in her hometown

2015 Aug 28: Gwen tweets a voice ad

2015 Aug 28-30: Blake in Cancun with his friends. This trip - In Style Magazine printed (later) the “rehab” story and sparked his lawsuit. Blake sends Gwen the duet song while in Mexico. Gwen keeps it for two days and sends him the 2nd half of it. Blake comes home to her with the guitar and they record it. (Combined Aug 5th Kiss-FM Interview and Cosmopolitan article)

2015 Aug 31: Blake’s Opry Movie taping in Nashville

2015 Aug (late) - Sept (before 15): ‘Used to Love You’ written ~~~~~~ 2015 Sept: Gwen & Blake may have been a part a lot. Gwen wrote a lot of songs & they are missing each other.

2015 Sept ??: Blake asks his management to setup hosting the Kids Choice Awards in March 2016 - scheduled for 6 months later. Blake tweeted when he got it saying it was both “personal and professional.” (Blake’s Twitter)

2015 Sept (beginning): The rumors started especially due to leaks on the Voice set (especially during Knockouts). Media articles talked about how Blake and Gwen were super flirty all the time, they’d always take their lunch break together and hang out behind closed doors in each other’s trailers. Quote: “They’re trying to keep it on the down-low, but it’s not happening, partly because they’re all over each other.” The supposed “source” then claims, “The chemistry between them is off the charts. Everyone on set sees that Blake and Gwen are falling for each other.” Life & Style - but accurate. Radar Online: “According to the source, “Blake and Gwen have been leaving the set together at the end of the workday on several occasions and he invited her out to the bar with him after taping too. Plus, the way that they interact both on-camera and off-camera is undeniably flirty.” This article also said they were “the real deal.” There were other articles crediting sources that Blake would call her every night and give her lots of gifts - along the lines of courting her.
