Gwyn is the character that was introduced in ACOSF only to find a very special place in everyone's hearts, whether it be her unbreakable spirit, warmth of her soul , her ethereal beauty or her incredible bravery ๐ฉต
She has a story waiting to be told, if the preview in ACOSF was so impactful imagine what her future story would be like.

Gwyn week 2026 will be held between October 05-09!!!
Gwynโs Starfall outfits will be the talk of the town. Iโm talking pieces of art that sculpt her body, with trailing hems and her signature mermaid flairs. Sheโd love the idea of expressing her heritage through fashion. I love this collection of bejwelled sheer mesh fabric, which creates the illusion of crystals and beads rolling down her skin like droplets of water. Sheโd also wear a lot of opalescent blue-greens that change colour as they catch the light, like ocean water.

In the spirit of Gwyn Day, I decided to create my first animation for you (go easy on me!).
Mothra is a divine guardian of nature, femininity and power which personifies Gwyn. Somehow, Mothra and Godzilla just makes sense for Gwynriel - the dichotomy of light and dark, whimsical and broody.
I hope you enjoy this little cartoon. And yes, I know Godzilla doesnโt have wings but Az does ๐

This 20 sec animation took me roughly 6 hours to create with > 100 layers, mostly using Procreate animation tool with post-processing in Edits.
Sometimes a character enters a story five books into the series and effortlessly becomes a fan favorite. Gwynโs resilience, strength, loyalty, and charming irreverence were such a breath of fresh air. She charmed readers the same way she charmed the characters in ACOSF.
And with April as SA Awareness Month, in our community of mostly women, this hits close to home for many of us and it is so important to uplift one another. In the words of Gwyn Berdara, I am the rock against which the surf crashes and nothing can break me. We are more than what has happened to us and there is no formula or timeline for healing.

In honour of April being Sexual Assault Awareness Month, we at Gwynriel Central, thought it would be a fun idea to host a Gwyn Appreciation Day next Saturday April 11th, to show some love to Gwyneth Berdara!
Gwyn is a character who is a survivor, but is not defined by her trauma alone. She has a heart of gold, is fiercely loyal, and truly is such a loveable soul!
We invite you to celebrate all the wonderful sides of Gwyn with us on April 11๐งก
