2521; A Fencing and Life
It's really hyped everywhere. Not just in South Korea, but also internationally; Twenty Five Twenty One, a Korean drama staring Nam Joohyuk and Kim Taeri, about youth, struggle, dream, and love. It's indeed a worth to hyped drama.
I started to watch this ongoing, as same as it was airing in Korea. I initially didn't know what this drama about, but who want to skip a Nam Joohyuk and Kim Taeri itself? I obviously didn't.
The first episode made me fell in love into the drama directly. Wow-ing and curious about the next happen after Na Heedo move to the new school and her further relationship with Baek Yijin. A Na Heedo itself potrayed as spirit school athlete who wouldn't give her dream up. She did everything for fencing. Including the weirdest and the extrem way.
Besides that, Baek Yijin, in my opinion, was a real potrait of what-happen-after-bankcrupt family. Everything was smooth when he was young, but monetary crisis in 1998 take that 'everything' from him. Not just being desperate of the situation, he wake up and try everything for continueing his life.
The one that I remember; not living your dream also okay. It doesn't mean you always have to live your dream. You just need to still alive.
Baek Yijin also said that success does not like a slope, it's not always go up. It's like a ledder, one step, one step, one step. You will feel like you don't make many change, many movement, but in fact, you always make a progress. Just don't give up.
I really teared up upon Na Heedo progress everyweek I watch. It related me who was on struggling also, that day. I feel like wanna hug her and say, it's okay, Na Heedo, let's do our best for achieve our dream. Also with her growth relationship with Baek Yijin, a one-two similiar with me. I impressed by all over this drama, including their friendship with Jiwoong, Seungwan, and the one and only rival, Ko Yurim.
It really stress me in the first episode, abstract conflict between Heedo and Yurim, a so-called olympian and newbie conflict, which reflect many aspect nowadays in another sport that I follow. From this and that episodes, I learn a lot from them. I can say confidently that this was my healing drama. I recommend it to you all.
