Happy Earth day, friends. I hope you get outside today. May we take care of our planet the way it cares for us. Here are a few places I got to spend time since the last Earth day. (at Arcata, California)
Conditions, psyche, beta, and the fortune of this little lady smiled on me today. She's performing a snouter to celebrate the trip she and I just made to the top of a spectacular route called "Fun Pig" at Sunset Alley. Thanks @joshkanel for the partnership, thanks @chieflittlerock for letting me borrow the good luck, and thanks @billohran for birthing such a king line. Love. (at St. George, Utah)
Through squalls of rain and hail and 40 mph wind, @joshkanel toils on seeking limestone deliverance. PC: Kent Woodruff (at St. George, Utah)
@joshkanel implements unique and highly advanced warm-up tactics shortly before his execution of pitch II #namethatroute (at Holy Grail)
This is my Scientific Illustration midterm, a fur-bearing mammal study in ink. Just now I’m feeling about like this fella. The salmon, that is, caught in the merciless jaws of academia. Less than a week until Spring Break though! (at Humboldt State University)
This shell study in pen and ink was the first time I've used microns. I really appreciate the precision of these instruments, but damn, shells are hard to render in any realistic way. (at Humboldt State University)
Thinking of a place (at Early Winters Ranger Station Work Center)
A spectacularly rare dry January weekend blessed us with sending conditions at castle rock today. @maxvell took advantage, and snatched the RP of “Taboo” on the west face. Strong work my friend! (at Burnt Ranch, California)
Here's the photo, found as promised! See previous post if confused. PC: @hankanddean (at Goat's Beard Mountain Supplies)
Here's a throwback to a throwback to a sketch of a photo of a kid (me) on his first ever multi pitch route (prime rib) in 2014. ¿Cachái? I just found the photo. See next post if interested. (at Mazama Store)
@chieflittlerock and @badbatlady admire one of the proudest crags in Northern California, while Yoyo the dog mournfully ponders the thought of lovers plunging hundreds of feet to their deaths from atop the granite wall. (at Lovers Leap, Lake Tahoe California)

It's been fun during the last few months that I've been free from work and school to explore some parts of North America that I haven't spent much time in. My heart is drawn to the desert and all the fascinating, resilient, abundant life that finds a home there. I'm lucky to get to spend a few days in northern Washington this holiday, but soon I'll be back where the air is dry and the plants are cantankerous 🌵 Here's a prickly pear in southern Utah, an organpipe, and perhaps a pincushion near Santiago, Baja. (at Twisp, Washington)
Saint George is a place for motivation to flourish #spotthecrusher #namethiscrag (at The Desert Rat)
From balmy Baja to twenty degree Twisp the debauchery continues (at Santiago, Baja California Sur)
