She's sacrificed a lot of human connections for what she believed she had to do/what was right. A lot of her time is spent isolated, and even when she did manage to form connections with others, they tend to take a back seat, especially romantic relationships. It's not a choice she actively made to start, but she did chose to continue it.

victoria glanced over at the voice, surprised to see that it was coming from behind a glowing vulpine mask. "I think the owners are surprisingly litigious, actually. I would be surprised if it's not already rigorously vetted and waivered." that or everyone behind the scenes decided that they didn't care, and it was easier to just let everything go up in flames. it could easily be either. "do I know you?" she asked, gesturing at the mask. "or do you know me?"

"I'm sure they are," she replied, managing to keep her voice from becoming venomous. She was sure they could sign contracts and litigate away anyone's rights if they tried hard enough. "I know of you but we've never met. You're a councilwoman, after all. I liked to keep up to date on those kinds of things." She did so far too meticulously but that was for her own piece of mind. "I'm Hyun-ji," she lied, the name so well practiced that it often sounded more natural than her own name.

the ferris wheel loomed over the festivities, twisting in a dizzy, hypnotic pattern. why did the very idea of this contraption send a shiver down her spine? it wasn't like it could kill her again. it was just metal and mechanics. a brightly illuminated brow furrowed into dark concentration while she stared down the machine. was it foolish to even admit something so sincerely trivial and whimsical scared her? victoria pursed her lips, chewing on a thought. "oh, it's a cage." she murmured mostly to herself. "what a nightmare."

She had found somewhere to slip to the side, briefly looking down at her phone. It was damn near impossible but she wasn't going to risk taking off the mask and getting caught. There was no telling how many people knew her face. She swore she heard the person beside her speak and she lifted to head to check, soon following her gaze up to the ferris wheel. "I don't know how that's not against some kind of fire safety rules, or insurance or something," she commented.

Daphne shrugged it off, assuming that it was hyper independence driving the other woman. She'd been guilty of doing the same thing when she was out to prove something, even if it was as simple as an outfit not being as cumbersome as it appeared. "The pleasure is all mine." She smiled at the woman in the mask. "Not at all. I was actually about to get a drink if I could just get the bartenders attention. I have never seen so many people gathered at one party before. There is scarcely room to breathe."

She was sugary sweet and Eun-ji could only question if it was genuine. Thankfully, all of her skeptical facial expressions were hidden under the mask for the time being. "They aren't paying attention to you? Guess they can't handle your beauty," she replied, nodding her chin up with the comment since she couldn't wink. "You're not wrong. It's the one upside to the mask. I can't see how crowded the room is." Stepping up to the bar, she pulled a bill out of her pocket and held it up as she leaned against the bar. Soon, a bartender noticed and came over. "What would you like?" she asked the woman as she stuffed the bill into the tip jar.

"It looks so cool though." She grinned, grabbing the bar to steady herself. She couldn't personally imagine having so many blind spots in the middle of a party, but the effect looked worth it. The fox head certainly turned more than a few heads.

"I'm fine. Are you okay under there? I know it's not easy being the klutzy one if only for a night. There's a barstool free if you want to take a break." She held her hand out, ready to help the person onto the chair. "I'm Daphne by the way. I can't tell if we've met or not."

It did look cool, which was enough of a distraction for most people to not care who was underneath. She waved off the concern, though she did turn her head to spot the barstool and guide herself onto it. "Thanks." While she normally did not think she needed to hide her identity, she knew she couldn't control information in such a crowd. She didn't know who was in the know about her identity and it was better to be safe. "I'm Jun-hee. It's nice to meet you, Daphne. I didn't knock over your drink, did I? Let me get you another one."

Daphne dodged the familiar face, squeezing through the throng of withering bodies on the dace floor. The bite me collar around her neck chaffed a bit from how tight it was, but she supposed that it needed to be in order for whomever was around to read it. Despite previous experiences, it was the least that she could do for Rosu. They were the ones throwing the festival for all to enjoy. A few drops of blood were nothing in comparison.

Reaching the other side of the room, she sighed in annoyance. The line for the Ferris wheel snaked around the line for the ladies room leaving the witch with no where to hide. There were the private rooms, but she doubted very much that she'd be welcome into one of the dens of secrets. Instead she sulked towards the bar, hoping for a bit of liquid courage to face whatever the night had in store for her.

As soon as she got into the room, she was questioning her choices. She would much rather be anywhere but here. It felt like a school of fish swimming directly in front of a pod of sharks, or maybe orcas, all keen to rip the fish apart. Who willingly chose this as fun?? She made a conscious effort to avoid the sides of the room where blood letting seemed to be going on. The bar was a little more safe, although nowhere on the entire block was safe. The mask she was wearing, while cool looking and lit up, made it a little more difficult to see. She still barely saw the person she had bumped into until she turned her head to the perfect angle. "Sorry, it's hard to see out this mask. Are you okay?"

The Sly Fox

Situated in Garond just off the main drag is a hole in the wall bar that as been around for a few decades now, occasionally changing hands but continuing to serve the community without interruption. Though it is open to all who want a good drink, The Sly Fox caters the experience towards the queer community, especially the lesbian and sapphic communities and takes its role as a safe space very seriously.

The menu boast both permanent signature drinks as well as rotating seasonal drinks, with many utilizing liquors distilled in the city and surrounding area. Every month, they host an event, most often hosting a musical performance of some kind. Digital flyers with event promotion and special drink deals go out anywhere from once weekly to once monthly.

The basement, while primarily used for storage, has been enchanted to have a secret room for potential Artemis usage. Eun-ji's currently owns The Sly Fox under a pseudonym.

There are openings for two bartenders, and anyone can sign up to perform.

Rahui was thrilled to hear that she would arrive to Vievecor just in time for the festival, she loved live music, and was a big fan of various of the bands playing at the Absynthia.

She put on an all black outfit consisting of a cropped tank, jacket, cargo pants and boots. She arrived early in the day to drink, dance to Røz, and cause problems. The mischievous spirit switched between dancing, and walking around stealing lighters and cigarettes, only to put them back at random people’s pockets, for no good reason other than wanting to fuck with people’s heads in a harmless way. Eventually, she grew tired of that, and tried to switch her activity to lurking at the bar for a while, and snatching drinks out of the table whenever a bartender set one down. However, her activity was cut short when she stole her second drink, as a hand settled firmly on her shoulder before she could bolt. The spirit turned around, grinning at the stranger and taking a step closer to them, with their stolen drink still in hand. “Thank you for buying me this, you know I really appreciate it.” Her speech wasn’t entirely fluent, and her accent was strong, indicating she wasn’t too used to speaking in this language.

If there was one event she knew she could enjoy, it was a music festival. It helped that there was minimal involvement from the supernatural community as far as she knew, besides allowing some of their businesses to be used as venues. Otherwise it wasn't likely she would have stepped foot in Absynthia. Tonight, she could enjoy herself, although she was still on somewhat high alert. As if there ever was a time when she wasn't.

She was just getting another drink when she watched a pretty girl snatch it up. Eun-ji was paying too much attention to let that slip by, grabbing her shoulder before she could take off. Still, she already had a drink earlier that relaxed her, on top of the fact that she could never stay mad at a pretty face for long. "You could have asked, I would have gotten you something more suited to your tastes."

Who: @hackerhyun Where: Artemis Forums Feet padded lightly across the wooden floor of his prewar brownstone apartment ignoring the dust. He's never been big on house shoes, in fact he really didn't like shoes at all. Often he wore barefoot sneakers on his runs, occasionally bringing them into work much to the chagrin of his coworkers. Toes are apparently controversial now. It was his day off and after being legally ran around by some beautiful lawyer, he needed to check in with the Artemis forums. Looking up in the dim light he spied 03:45 in soft neon lights on his retro alarm clock. Damn, who could he get at this hour? The community seemed a mixing pot of random individuals and he wasn't sure if they were all human but that sort of sleuthing was for another time. Even for another person for that matter. It seemed as though he'd have his hands full with council. At his age he wasn't about to be their novelty play thing.

Logging in he propped his feet up on the edge of another good find, a solid walnut desk and waited patiently for the little dots to light up, letting him know someone was there.

Even though they were in a period of peace, Eun-ji could not bring herself to simply sit back and accept it. She still connected with people online doing forgery work and hacking, but she also found herself coming back to the forum, checking on it and hoping to hear something, anything. It had become remarkably quiet as of late and she was left waiting for the other shoe to drop when it inevitably would.

When she saw a message request, she couldn't help wondering who else was looking at the forums at this time of night.

"Its fine... I'm invading your territory in all technicality." Max chuckled a little, part of them had forgotten or maybe hoped that Eun-ji had left town. Granted they could have left town but instead here they both were awkwardly trying to be normal.

"I don't know really, just kinda anything." Admitting they were in a rut was hard, Eun-ji however had likely seen this more than a few times but they didn't want to think about how well they knew each other. The hurt was already deep with Gwen gone and the first hope at something normal seemingly gone. "Just haven't quite found the right... thing."

They were glad to hear that she was settling at least there was that. Max had remember missed dates and time that Max had wanted to spend with her. "I'm glad to hear it, you deserve to have peace every now and then I know how invested you get into things. Make sure to take care of yourself, yea?"

God why were they giving a fuck, they really shouldn't maybe she just wasn't capable of truly being a bitch.

"You'll find something somewhere," she replied casually. She'd seen the artist go through phases like this before, where the world wasn't as inspiring as usual, but there was always something that lit the spark again, and then the fire of inspiration and creativity would be burning bright in Max once more. "I can buy you a drink for the mean time?"

They were being far kinder to her than she would have expected, though she guessed the very obvious gloom surrounding them was contributing to that. Eun-ji's smile softened into something more genuine. "I think you were the only person to ever tell me to slow down," she commented with a soft laugh. "It's about time I finally started doing that."

"Of course you don't. You'll go where there's money to be made, won't you? I do love an opportunistic woman," Ayumu replied.

"Hmm... Is this your way of politely telling me to fuck off?" the spirit asked, teeth flashing as they grinned at Jun-hee.

He wasn't wrong, but she didn't like how it sounded when he said it like that. She had to make money to eat and live, and fund her underground actions. Being a revolutionary didn't pay, unfortunately. "Unlike someone, I don't have a business that makes money on its own."

"I'm sure I could have said it politer," she replied with a shrug, not denying it. Despite her proximity to him earning her money, she didn't enjoy it.
