What was going through your mind when you wrote “I wanted to hurt you”? A specific person? Beautifully written

thank you 💛 not a particular person, just pain. the running theme in the poem isn’t unfaithfulness, that’s just the trigger - it’s about wanting someone to feel the pain they’ve caused you so they can really understand the weight of its damage on you. but feeding into this only causes bitterness and results in vengeful acts that don’t replenish you in any way. one moral lesson: closure does not exist, and embracing your misery does not mean you should let it consume you beyond recognition - “now that you have killed me, and now that you are dead”.

Are you against relationships?

not at all, it’s nice to be loved. i just feel like at this age there are too many obstacles in the way even when there’s a person who actually values loyalty, stability, and honesty, which is rare because this is the age most people want to be wild and unrestricted (i’ve realized i want this too even when i think i have feelings for someone), even when they claim they’re willing to commit. i feel like your teens and 20s aren’t the time for compromises and settling, it’s finding yourself, practicing self-love and deciding what you like & you do not like, what you want to stay with you & what you want to leave, having fun whilst simultaneously moulding your future. thus i’ve ultimately decided to do just that, working on myself before i think of being with anyone. i think this will even benefit whoever i eventually fall for, because i’ll come as a full, prepared person, and i’ll also never find myself settling for less than i deserve. it’s going to take a very life changing person to alter my perspective on this.
