I’m a little bit more comfortable. I love wearing jeans, and I don’t wear stockings. I like to be comfortable but I also like to look put together all the time. I don’t wear dresses all the time–it’s nice to save those moments for certain occasions and to make it feel extra special. In the ‘30s, every day was an event. And, as much as I love that idea, I think nowadays it’s nice to have the differentiation of when you dress up and when you don’t. I think it makes it a little bit more special.

It’s very very sweet when little girls come up to me, or when people come up and say that they’ve liked a film or that they’ve watched it with their family and been happy and laughed. with time seemingly elapsing endlessly, gentle waves scattered around harry’s ankles as he stood with his feet dug into the sand. to anyone, the sight of him might have looked poetic, but really, he was out in the water trying to get rid of the nasty hangover of whatever drug he had been on a day or two ago. he hadn’t really taken note of the girl next to him until she spoke, and he hadn’t exactly heard much of it. he only really zoned in when she brought up stringrays, and there was no way in hell he could’ve hidden the look of complete bafflement on his face “i think i’ll take my chances with the rays” he finally said with a little bit of rasp and grogginess still lingering in his voice. his initial reaction to this complete stranger splashing him with the cold ocean water is a quip of the brows with a small scoff of disbelief. however, he then pushed his now half-wet hair back and started with small strides toward the brunette “you sure about that?” he started, the perfectly crooked smile drawing itself onto his face “because i don’t usually play nice” he quipped, reaching down to splash some water onto her in return “is this how you usually approach contemplative looking strangers?“

a moment to pause and look at the man she’d splashed seconds earlier was all it took to realize that he, for one reason or another, stood out. maybe it was his vaguely disheveled look, or that he’d been standing silently for longer than she’d realized. and, of course, it was hard not to notice the low, thick accent flowing lazily downwind from him; if anything, the voice alone, surrounded by sun and surf, threw hadley off. “steve irwin did, and look where that got him.” she quipped, brown orbs teasing him through thick eyelashes - humor was her best shield. his response to her splash elicited a light eruption of laughter, small hands resting loosely on her waist as she cocked her head slightly to the side. “wow, now i’m scared. - who says i don’t like to play a little dirty sometimes?” the corners of her lips turned upwards in a smirk as he stepped closer and she stayed rooted in loose sand, the waves moving past her with a gentle, grounding rhythm. when he sent a spray of salty droplets in her direction, she opened up as if she were greeting the ocean with a hug and splashed him again in retaliation. “only the ones with curly hair. why, did i interrupt you?”

logan had ran off to escape the busy city, needing a breath of fresh air to keep him stable in this heat. new york was pretty hot at times, but nothing compared to this. his hands fit snug inside his pockets, he let the sun blind him for a mere moment and then shut his eyes to it. it wasn’t until he heard another voice that he looked down to see where the sound had come from. “i’ve never been one to turn down a water fight.”
