I was interested in imagining what he might have looked like back then (in my headcanon, he's around 25 during DAO, I don't know where I got that number from, it's just in my head), so I tried to structure some of my random thoughts in this drawing😌

peak comedy to me btw that alistair and zevran are right next to each other in camp and you can barely talk to zevran without flirting and poor alistair has to listen to it all the time. cannot escape. basically every conversation has the option to turn into innuendo and sweet summer child alistair is simply yearning in the background like 🧍♂️

Accidentally adopts Rynéus. Threw his black stone in the ocean so that they'd all be away from that bad energy
Accidentally stops the cleansing because of that. No stone > no beacon lighting tool > things with Nehrim calm because of an agreement > happy ending???

When I created the Marksman, a lot of his abilities were kinda jokes. His ability to "become presenceless" (functionally but not literally invisible) was me poking fun of how stealth seems to work when you're a high level.
However, very recently when I was researching Enderal's affinities (for werewolf reasons) I took a gander at the Psionics tree... And right there, exactly as I've always described his stealth trick: Psionic Veil.
Now, as far as the Marksman's concerned, he's not a mage and doesn't have an ounce of mana in him (the Ghost-Step and his trick of presencelessness being just Strange Things People Can Do Sometimes). He also thinks, since he's not a mage, that he never needs to worry about Ambrosia... Man's running a 5-20% Arcane Fever at all times :/
He's also not very well-versed in magical knowledge, categorising it as "wizard nonsense" and ignoring it by-and-large. The only time he'd ever heard of Psionics was after the Father implanted the dream in his mind... Which gave him a very disparaging view of the school.
As far as he's concerned, the Father was evil, Psionics is evil, and so is anyone who uses it.
One of the few things that stops the Marksman turning a blade on himself is his firmly held belief that despite all he's done, he's not crossed the point of no return: He isn't evil.
