I seldom watch Thailand’s media. Maybe it’s because the Thailand’s culture is not that agreeable to me. But recently I watched a Thailand’s advertisement which moved me deeply. I feel if there are more media works like it in Thailand, I will watch.
It’s an insurance advertisement. It’s about a common people. He is about 20 to 30 years old, not rich and not outstanding. He is just a common people like us. But he did the thing we would like but not to do. Almost every day, he moves the flower besides the road to where it could be watered, he gives the chicken legs in his breakfast to the dog that begs for it; he helps the woman who has trouble pushing the Vendor vehicle up to the road edge and gives money to the girl who kneels to beg for education. And he never forgets to leave bananas to the elderly next door. What he did could not make him on TV, could not make him rich rather than poor. It may waste his time and money. But he keeps doing it happily. I suppose he did these things to make himself a better person and to make the world more beautiful. Finally, the dog follows him everywhere, the vendor treat him as he is her son. The girl stands in front of him with school uniform on. The elderly smiles at him. And the flower blooms. All these things make him happy. I think that’s why he persists.
The theme of the insurance is to do little good deed. Do good to others and you would be happy.
