These images are from a new book, “Little Oren and the Noises,” which I am proud and excited to tell you about, in hopes that you may be curious enough to plunk down some cash for it.
It’s the first “official” release from the Orford Parish Books imprint, which started because we wanted to bring out stuff that was too weird and artsy for the straight horror world, and too horrifying for the weird and artsy world.
Pastula’s book is a full-color illustrated volume deceptively labeled as a children’s book, following the descent into madness of the titular Little Oren, whose sole wish is both simple and annihilating: he wants to get away from noise.
Anyway, if that’s your thing, please take a look.

“Thank God Donald Trump is a hulkamaniac!!!”
Orford Parish Murder Houses is a slim and unassuming book, featuring cover art and design that look right out of a local tourism pamphlet. Beneath that (purposefully) humble exterior, however, is a…
Hey, the good people at Muzzleland Press (purveyors of fine horror fiction) have published an interview with me about the little weird book I wrote, so if that’s your thing, I’ve got good news.
Share this post if you ever played this game!
I spent many hours playing this game in a convenience store called “The Blue Duck”.
“Dean Ambrose. Dean Ambrose. You are a windmillin’, piledrivin’, neckbreakin’, backbreakin’, bearhuggin’, wristlockin’, kneedroppin’, toeholdin’, son of a son of a gun. Meaner than a rattlesnake! Tougher than shoe leather! More dangerous than a hollow-eyed scorpi! Middle aged and crazy! Crazy like a fox in a henhouse with a feather stickin’ out his ask me no questions and I’ll tell you no lies! Do you understand me? Do you understand me? Well I understand you, too. And I’ve got something over here that I want you to have. Because you are the best in the country. If I had a son, I’d want him to be just like you. If I had a daughter … here’s the chainsaw right here. You see that? You know whose it is? It’s Dean Ambrose’s. That is yours! From me!”
My positive thing about RAW this week.

Here is Alundra Blayze defending the WWF Women’s Title versus Bull Nakano in the Tokyo Dome. This is really one of the only memorable women’s title feuds I can remember from the 90′s. After Bull Nakano was released for cocaine possession and the WWE changed it’s focus to bra and panties matches with non-wrestlers, we wouldn’t really see any competent women’s wrestling on WWE TV until very recently.

Haha, hoo boy, wrestling fans are dumb conservative dum-dums, am I right? This is so universally known that I, an Editorial Cartoonist Guy, am going to use the concept of watching wrestling on television as a signifier for ignorance! Hoo hoo, mercy! Someone call a nurse, because my sides are splitting!
Except that the audience for televised wrestling is majority non-white, and majority 44 years old or younger, which means that, insofar as any collective political tendency can be discerned, wrestling fans are likelier to skew left than they are to be a Trumpian caricature like the one above.
Oh, also, Mr. Editorial Cartoonist Guy, in his haste to make this joke about how stupidity and wrestling go together, managed to misspell the word “to.”
