A freshly gathered collection of native plants from my yard awaiting their turn to be pressed into clay for cheese plates and some tile trials. I love living in #wnc where plants are so abundant and diverse. See any that are familiar? 🌿🌾🌳 Yesterday I learned from @designsponge IG that this style of arranging and photographing a collection from above is called "Knolling" after designer Frances Knoll. I was craving a dose of color so I started this spontaneous painting yesterday. My first layer was a wild rainbow explosion so I scaled it back with a maximalist tangle of white, summer-inspired doodles. 😎🌈 Swipe for a detail and video of it being created. Acrylic on canvas. I've been quiet on IG while settling into my new place, but I'm happy to share that I've finally got a tiny makeshift clay studio set up that I think will work just fine. In the meantime, I've been painting in my living room during the days and taking advantage of the natural light in this sweet little apartment. 🔆
