The male knew that his girlfriend was trying extra hard not to discipline him. Their relationship was a weird one; they often went weeks without seeing each other, but Sylas found that he couldnāt go a single day without talking to Harriet. Even at work, when he was meant to keep things professional, he could be found sneaking kisses in the pantry, or even flinging paper footballs at her to get her attention. He was like a large child, and he never blamed her for the ways that she took care of him. However, he mustered up a small smile at her statement, appreciating the way she was trying to keep it light-hearted.Ā āTrust me, I tried brushing my teeth a couple times while I was still under, but I was told that I just looked like a struggling jellyfish.ā The male gave another hard swallow, keeping his gaze down as the blonde continued to talk.Ā āYou can stay if you want to. But you gotta beware that Easton doesnāt like to move from his throne unless heās forced. He could stand to go home for a few days.ā
Hal and Sylas had long since had a conversation about Sylas and his ability to take care of himself. He knew that she instinctively wanted to protect him from himself, and she knew that nothing got on his nerves more than that. But sheād missed him. His vying for her attention at work was something that got her through the day. Feeling something whiz by her only to see his grinning face from behind the counter didnāt stop making her heart swell with excitement. His eyes calmed her; his voice soothed her. The sound of his voice grounded her. Sheād needed that when he was in a coma, but now she could talk to him, and now she was next to him.Ā āReally? Not a tentacle monster? Wouldāve thought youād go all out,ā she beamed.Ā āIām only staying if you want me here. Easton or no Easton doesnāt really make a difference.ā

Sophia had been sitting in the hospital for a few hours now. Her mom was having a few problems with her pregnancy but everything had been cleared and they were just waiting to be sent home. Itās not that Soph didnāt like hospitals, she had just been stuck in the tiny room with four people for a few hours and she needed some air.Ā
The young brunette held her notebook close and walked around the front of the hospital before settling on a garden box ledge. She opened her note book and pulled out her pen just as the wind picked up and blew her paper awayĀ āno!ā Sophia cried out as she chased the paper down, eager to catch it.
Hal blinked in surprise at the activity as she pushed through the doors of the hospital. She stomped on the paper before it flew farther away from the girl chasing it.Ā āHere you go. Looking for this?ā

What's it like being friends with Aurora?
Relaxing? I donāt know how to put it. I got scared when Rae and Glim moved away since they were basically my family. Rae was basically the mom friend, and Glimmer took me in when I had nowhere else to go. I felt lost for a while, even though Aurora and I were already friends at the time. When I moved in with her, I felt at home again. Thereās no pressure to be someone Iām not around her. I can be as weak and scared as I want without feeling ashamed. The two of us can cry to each other, and I donāt think Iāve ever had a friendship where I was able to expose myself that much.
How are you handling things with Sylas?
Iām handling them. Sylas is handling himself. Iām coping. The best thing any of us can do for Sylas is take care of ourselves so that he doesnāt have to worry about anyone else.
Who was your biggest hero growing up?
My aunt. She gave me my first watercolor set. She snuck me out to a No Doubt concert when my mom was out of town. I was probably eight years old. She showed me that there is noĀ āright wayā to live life.
