Because she calls herself Joan which has no meaning. But she could have called herself Emma.

David naming his daughter after the woman who taught him what courage is, when fatherhood makes him feel like the biggest coward imaginable. David knowing that Emma isn't Anna's real name, but he also knows that woman was a hero, and his daughter will be the greatest one to ever live. Ingrid finding out that Emma was actually named after Anna, and somehow her mind twists it to "Emma was always supposed to replace Anna as Elsa's sister."

Steph being her father's daughter and being smart and manipulative when she needs. The concept of her being able to convince anyone to do anything.

That one fic I read. The best fic I read. The fic where Steph tricks the Lords in Black to revive Pete after Max murders him (several times) and then tries to sacrifice Grace. There is a paragraph where the author describes the relationship of Pete and Richie (earth and moon imagery gahahahhhh) and it's one of the best things I have ever read.

Not exclusively to Hatchetfield but nearly every Kim/Curt duo being lovers (HOLLOWDUKE!!! and more) in parallel to the relationship of Sia and John. There's no way Sia even remembers John's name like who the fuck is that guy. That's Rose's pet bitch or something.

That thing Jeff does in both Dirty Girl and Take Me Back. When it's quiet (I'm a good girl... Hungry for more... I'm a-I'm a good girl/just take me back... gotta take me back...) and then it's like bam (WHO ON OCCASION GETS DIRTY/IN TIME TO LOVE YOU) and it's the most satisfying shit ever.

I think that the funniest dynamic that we never really got to see in ouat is Regina and King George.

My headcanon is that these two can't stand each other. Like among the Black Knights it's the worst assignment to escort Regina to meet King George since she is famously even more prickly after seeing him and has killed Black Knights before since they breathed too loud when she was busy stewing in her rage and planning George's downfall.

Also the relationship progression is super interesting. Because at first they have business together because George already had trade agreements with Leopold and Regina didn't care enough to change anything. But during their limited interactions as two allied kingdoms, Regina came to hate George since he reminds her her awful dead husband whom she hated, and George barely thinks of Regina beyond since he doesn't take her seriously as an attractive woman (he sucks.).

And then Regina breaks off all trade with George's kingdom for absolutely no reason (the reason is the deal she made with Rumple in the flashback of s2 ep20 but George doesn't know it) and what the hell dude. Seriously what the fuck. It strengthens George's claim that women can't rule because they're too emotional, and that makes him hate her as well. And Regina breaking off their trade agreements is the first stone that leads to George's arrangement with Midas, and to his son's death, and the whole chaos that the stupid fucking shepherd brings to George's life.

So they despise one another. And they are forced to ally because Snow and David attack their kingdoms. And they hate it so so so much.

Corey and Jaime were so damn phenomenal in Daddy I simply must gush for a moment

Corey captured the layers of Frank's character and his emotions so perfectly, really made him grounded without losing the edge that made him entertaining in Black Friday. a lot of it is the way he talks I think - he has this slower, condescending tone when he's talking to Lex, a brighter more practiced voice when talking to customers, and a much more casual, looser, more earnest and open tone when he talks to Miss Holloway or the vet. Boss Voice vs Salesman Voice vs Casual Voice, and they all feel so natural, because they're all equally true parts of the character. Frank's an asshole. he's charismatic and an excellent salesman. he has an earnest passion for toys. he's nostalgic for an easier time and feels like the progression of the world is leaving him behind. he's condescending and judgemental. he cares in a "tough love" type of way. he wanted to get Barry's body out of the dungeon. when he thought he was about to die and was apologizing to everyone he's failed, he apologized to Lex. you get his dismissive, condescending attitude, you get his earnest love of toys, you get his fear and his vulnerability and his softer, sadder side all from Corey's voice and his eyes and his facial expressions and it's all so natural and grounded. Frank Pricely contains multitudes and Corey delivered on every single one.

and Jaime is such a shapeshifter, just the difference in her physicality between Sherman and Sheila is amazing. the way she moves her hands - elegant and fluid movements as Sheila, the constant wiggling and grasping and twitching as Sherman. the posture, Sheila's formal and graceful while Sherman's shoulders are always at his ears. the two incredibly distinct voices, Sherman's nasally rasp and Sheila's smooth, refined tones. it's such an incredible showcase of her range as a performer. it's WILD to remember that they're the same person, the characters are so distinct and their interactions feel so natural. and that's not even mentioning Marco! how is she an elegant, 100+ y/o rich MILF, a spoiled manchild, and a Lurch-like inhuman behemoth all in one episode?? Jaime is a powerhouse.

Best couple in current Grey's, potential to be the best but we still has to see what actually becomes of their relationship. Still the greatest slow burn in a show that rarely has slowburns. Jules needs some stability from someone who is an adult duo to her upbringing, and Winston needs someone who will actually care for him the way he cares for her.

As I'm rewatching season 6 of ouat and reflecting on earlier seasons, I'm thinking more and more about Regina's magic.

Because Regina naturally sucks as magic. When Rumple teaches her as a young woman she's clearly struggling and has almost no innate talent for the craft, much in contrast to her mother - who despite starting to learn magic around Regina's age, she is a much easier time with it - and her sister, who has so powerful magic she can't even control it as a kid. Like Zelena practically is a magic powerhouse as a kid and Regina is definitely not.

We can see it also that as an adult, Regina is still not very potent in the natural magic department, or at the very least not as much as the other people surrounding her. Emma, Zelena, Rumple all have way more powerful magic than her, and Regina is constantly out raw magicked because she genuinely does not have that power, again and again.

But. That Goddess of a woman is also the definition of dedication beats talent. Granted that dedication came from a place of vengeance, but Regina just dedicated YEARS of her life to studying magic, to master it, to understand it in the most fundamental level so she can bend forces quite literally beyond her power to her will. She will never be as naturally gifted as Emma or Zelena, but she is shown to be able to find the most creative solutions using magic; not only because she's really fucking smart, but also because she had to learn how to be creative with the lesser magic because she doesn't have the power to do things like using the sorcerer's wand by herself.

To summerize, this is one hundred percent not the original intentions of the writers, but I think it's incredible how Regina despite being the weakest main character in raw, pure magic is also the most innovative, brilliant and creative when it comes to finding magical solution. I fucking love her. And the show. And her again.
