  Slaps your hand away, huffing and crossing my arms under my chest, turning to the other side. "You're seriously so embarrassing, Naruto..." I begin, a devilish grin pulling on my lips as I turn to face you again, teasingly. "But I'm sure I can get you to say that again tonight."

She gets the news and it sort of comes to her like a train wreck. Not that she didn’t care about him, but more as in she did. She cares about everyone she grew up with, even if she doesn’t say it. Her heart is ringing loudly in her ears, words going through her right one and coming out her left. Palms clammy, she saunters to the door, shaking. And it’s ridiculous, she thinks, because she’s a shinobi and she’s seen so many people hurt and wounded, but then she thinks of Naruto and remembers how many times it’s also been like this with him. And his body is there, connected to the machine, and she wonders with a breath and swallow, just exactly she’ll tell the rest of his team.
