i should have been an art majorrrrr i have such big plans for my next print projects
figuring out how i want to do this intaglio project w a test image
i'm really liking the general landscape approach (top right) but it feels a little too soft. good ol Black Box of Doom is really calling my name but it feels unsubtle. i'm generally sort of fascinated by the idea of people disappearing entirely to time and the way we perceive the past. hence falling into machinery the landscape shadow etc
i'm choosing photos from the midcentury bc it is Such a stimgatized and artificial-feeling period in american culture and i'm thinking about it all the time already so why not put that to good use
i'll probably do a few more of these since im not used to b+w collage but i'm feeling pretty good about this
the copper plate of evil and darkness
WHY DID THEY FUCK UP THE UI. anyways this is your notification that im about to screenprint the plate and then immediately etch her. wow jfc this sucks so bad. not my plate the ui change
Autoclave Heart has two English dubs: a censored, child-oriented localization released by the now-defunct FurKids in 1998 and an uncensored dub released in 2019.
The 1998 dub made several confusing changes to the plot. All subtext concerning Kit's past with Melody, heavily implied to be abusive, is removed, as are all mentions of pilots and handlers being soulmates and having romantic and sexual connections. (Presumably, this is due to the majority of background pilots and handlers being female.) Kit and Captain Elizondo's relationship is very heavily revised; other characters call them "friends" and many of their scenes are extremely censored. Despite this, Kit still insists that Jude is "fixing him". Most scenes with Kit have been painted over to show him with a flatter chest, although this is inconsistent. Additionally, Sparrow Lake's name is changed to Amanda Black, Imani Rivers becomes Izzy Rivers, and Jude Elizondo becomes John Elliot. No other names are changed.
The Autoclave Heart dub was the last production that FurKids made before their bankruptcy in 1999. The extreme cost required to censor the artwork is generally considered to be the reason that the studio closed. FurKids's CEO was convinced that the series would be a hit among American children, but its slow pace, confusing plot, unsettling imagery, and comparisons to Swat Katz made it unpopular among its target demographic. The burgeoning anime community circulated fanmade subtitled tapes of the uncensored Japanese version that gradually made their way into the furry community, where it became a cult classic.

BTW my relationship with this art piece is healed bc i got to see it when i hadn't been fistfighting with it for 12 hours and it looks awesome. and during critiques everybody just glazed me for 5 minutes straight. so i'm kind of a genius and the best at everything in the whole wide world
